I saw this on twitter as an unintentionally funny article. Dont know if its serious but if so i'm amused somebody can intergrate their sexism into a chicken recipe http://www.donotlink.com/framed?663704

bolded in particular

Now, the basic preparation of one of these frozen breasts is easy: remove from freezer and wrapping, plop onto a pan and place into a 450 degree Fahrenheit (about 230 Celsius) oven for about an hour or less.

While you are waiting, get on Twitter and give hell to any feminists you can find.

At the end of an hour you will find a beautiful, tasty (if a little dry) roasted chicken breast. Pair that with your favorite dipping sauce (teriyaki and chili paste for me), some veggie dish and a glass of cheap wine, and you are eating in a way Caesar would envy two thousand years ago.

The overtones of rape throughout anything from AVFM is why everyone thinks MRAs are all rapists.

That all being said, I find it unsurprising that men who make so many "get back in the kitchen" jokes are unable to cook a fucking chicken breast properly.

The fact that the first version is for a single unseasoned chicken breast is the kicker for me.

The chicken recipe reads like the script for a Saturday Night Live skit lampooning AVFM.

There's not a lot of wit there from people who genuinely call themselves Men Going Their Own Way. They are self-parodying, because they are obsessed with women despite their whole deal being that they don't need women.

Of course, they're the part of the manosphere who gave us Elliot Rodger, so they might be self-parodying but they're not a joke.

Oh my god teg that video is such a bummer.

I feel like I need to both start cooking more complex dishes and also just smile all the time to balance out the fact that that exists.

One of my favorite recipes for chicken breast is to cut up and soak the pieces of chicken in a bowl with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, spices (or just dump a bottle of vinaigrette if you don't have those ingredients) for a day in the fridge, splash some tomatoes with similar mixture and then sautee the chicken slices in a pan until they are cooked through, then dump the fresh tomatoes, cooked chicken on onions, lettuce, olives, whatever cheese, croutons, and then dress with same concoction. It's a great warm/cold salad perfect for summer.

Oh my god this makes me so angry.  It is not hard to cook a fucking chicken breast.  In the age of google nobody has any excuse to not know how to properly prepare meat.

I thought this might be of interest to some people here, warning tiny bit NSFW since it has a model in tasteful bra and panties/sports bra:

http://workthatmatters.blogspot.com/2014/01/now-this-is-bold-lingerie-ad.html?spref=tw

TLDR: Bra company from Canada finds out one of their models has rare form of ovarian cancer and is undergoing treatment, keeps her for modelling and doesn't airbrush her or anything.

It's a story from 2014 but it still made me smile anyways. (Plus check out the lingerie site's BRA SIZE MATRIX.)

I haven't been so proud to be Icelandic in a long while, to be honest!

It hits a lot of issues at once. From revenge porn to censorship, beauty standards to arbitrary double standards. Reading tweets from victims of revenge porn talking about how they're no longer ashamed thanks to the solidarity was truly heartwarming. A lot of truly inspiring tweets from politicians, mothers and young women. Some of my friends joined in and I couldn't be more proud of them. If it were my daughter, showing this kind of courage in sticking it to sexualization, I would've been beaming with pride!

All in all I think this was brilliant. And, as is usually the case, some people's reactions to it pretty much proves their point..

(The reaction being more slut-shaming, some parents being ashamed of their daughters, everyone's favorite hashtag #GamerGate trolling th hashtag with dick pics, tone policing, "Can't we leave *something* to the imagination!", etc.)

Btw, almost all the tweets and articles I've read on this are in Icelandic, so I don't really have any links for anyone right now..

EDIT: Just started reading this one from Vice, seems to be more in-depth than the one Ben linked: https://i-d.vice.com/en_us/article/free-the-nipple-goes-viral-and-we-dissect-the-backlash

I remember when I was really young (I wanna say 10-ish) and playing with a friend who was a girl of mine and I wanted to take off my shirt while we were playing outside and my mom told me not to because this girl wouldn't be able to take hers off and it wasn't fair. I didn't understand until way later, and then I just bought into the explanation, of course. This is cool, though. I support it.

That said: "The hashtag went viral after 17-year-old Adda Smaradottir posted a picture of her nipple..." Isn't that "child porn" in America (and I'm assuming other places)? As in, isn't it illegal? Clearly Iceland is all right with it, but I'm sort of surprised it exists on Twitter (unless it doesn't anymore).

I honestly have no idea if it's technically illegal somehow or what not. Non-legal opinion from non-lawer me: It definitely shouldn't be.

EDIT: Insta-clarify! Not that I'm saying you're saying it should! I love you Twig!

I think part of the message is that it shouldn't even be considered pornography when it's just women who want the freedom to be able to not cover their chests.

How exactly the legal system would respond is complicated. But my entirely unprofessional understanding was that the point of the laws was to prevent minors being abused by other people creating the images and distributing them?

The video game case that went before the US supreme court's main theme was regarding whether or not minors are entitled to free speech rights the same as adults if I remember correctly.  I guess the central question then would be whether or not that counts as free speech.

What I was saying is: I've heard (and never researched) that minors can indeed be held responsible for spreading underage porn (e.g., through sexting is the most common context I hear of), and I dunno how strict the People in Charge are.

For example: "if it's a nipple it's porn!!!"

Like maybe that's true. I have to assume/hope it's not, but I dunno.

Not that someone from America can do anything about someone in Iceland, but they could certainly do something about Twitter...

itsamoose: Ah, well, that sounds like a thing that should protect whatever. Whether or not it does I dunno.

I DUNNO NOTHIN'

AoC laws, including possession of materials by the image holders THEMSELVES, are extremely up in the air regarding digital content in the US. There's been several cases I believe where teens consemtually gave their pictures to other teens and both teens were brought up in underage pornography charges. It really depends on the state.

Doesn't porn have to be produced with the intention of providing sexual thrills or something?

The difficulty is when other people need to look back at something and decide what the intention was. And to some people something like a female nipple might be inherently sexual anyway.
