Woebin Posted May 30, 2012 Just got and answered the $50 ($60 with shipping for me) rewards form. One thing I noticed is that there's no information about how large the different shirt sizes actually are, as that can vary a bit (as in one label's Small being bigger or smaller than another's Small and whatnot). Probably fine, but possibly something you might want to add for the forms still to be sent out (higher tier backers still get the shirt, right?) I was also forced to fil out the State or Region field, which isn't really easily applicable for Sweden and probably a bunch of other countries as well. Hopefully entering my "Län" is close enough. dium Posted May 31, 2012 A rule of (ahem) thumb for those too lazy to use the sizing chart: American Apparel shirts run small (at least compared to most American sizes). Most places I'm a medium, but for AA shirts I'm a large.
Woebin Posted May 31, 2012 Here is the size chart we're using for menand the one we'll be using for women! Sweet, thanks! Guess I'll dig out the measuring tape and figure out what size is appropriate for me. I already filled out the form though, would it be possible to correct my size if it turns out I messed up? Just use the same size you picked for the DFA Backer T-Shirt I actually didn't back DFA. Shameful, I know, I'm just not big into point and click adventure games. I keep buying them and never getting far.

Woebin Posted June 1, 2012 You'll have to send us a Kickstarter message That makes sense, but it turns out the size I selected is the size I want so it's all good. Looking forward to getting that sweet shirt!
mikemariano Posted June 1, 2012 I'm an American Apparel extra-small for undershirts, but I decided I'm going to wear the Idle Thumbs shirt over another shirt or get fatter so I picked small.

subbes Posted June 1, 2012 Does AA do fat bastard size shirts? Because that's the size I need.
Salacious Snake Posted June 2, 2012 A rule of (ahem) thumb for those too lazy to use the sizing chart: American Apparel shirts run small (at least compared to most American sizes). Most places I'm a medium, but for AA shirts I'm a large. They're definitely slimmer than the average Hanes BEEFY TEE or whatever, but they tend to be pretty long. They're kinda fitted in the shoulder area as well. AA shirts are somewhere between your standard roomy t-shirt and a fitted t-shirt. I love them; they're far more flattering than a normal t-shirt if you get the right size. Also, if you wear t-shirts, you probably have something made by American Apparel even if you don't know it, because tons of companies use their stuff. edit: t-shirt edit 2: Like, if you wear graphic tees or witty internet slogan tees, you definitely have some AA shit already. edit 3: Also, stop doing that. subbes Posted June 2, 2012 I'm coming back into this thread to be a jerk and say that I hate Dov Charney and the AA ads make me feel physically queasy. I can unpack this more but it is basically a feminist rage-y thing and we've already got that sort of discussion going on in a separate thread. HOWEVER I respect that it is difficult to find a t-shirt brand that is all things to all people, you have made your choice, and I have no wish to besmirch you; I am not second-guessing you or asking you to change your rewards or anything like that. It's not anger at the thumbs. Please do not take it as such. I just had to speak my reaction to AA because if I am silent on it I'll just get an anger-ulcer or sit in the car stuffing french fries into my face while crying. Ross. Posted June 2, 2012 Hey Chris/Jake/Sean, is there a deadline for when you need the Backer Survey filled in by? I'm in the $200 tier and am still trying to figure out what topic/question I should write in with. Ideally i'd like to wait till after E3 is done and the dust has settled to see if anything worth discussing came out of it that you might not normally cover. toblix Posted June 2, 2012 I tried looking up American Apparel, but all I could find was a porn site with the same name.
Erkki Posted June 3, 2012 I selected a smaller T-Shirt than normally in the hopes that I will lose some more weight and it will fit me then.

Yeah, I'm with you, but when it comes to buying a t-shirt online you don't usually have an option of choosing NOT AA. Anywhere you go, that's the one they all seem to be using. It's a bummer, to be sure. From what I've heard though, Dov may have had to sell the company? This is like 3rd hand info from my partner, so I'm not sure, but having that possibility in the back of my mind makes it slightly less appalling to have some of my money going to them. I tried looking up American Apparel, but all I could find was a porn site with the same name. Hahaha. Too true.
Erkki Posted June 3, 2012 Hahaha. Too true. Hmm.. I now googled American Apparel too. It's a porn site with a "kids" section?

Ideally i'd like to wait till after E3 is done and the dust has settled to see if anything worth discussing came out of it that you might not normally cover. There's not a firm deadline but try to get them back to us as soon as possible -- we'll probably have to draw a line in the not-so-distant-future but that's tbd. Sententia Posted June 12, 2012 Is there any way to still pledge somehow? If you haven't already backed it the kickstarter is over, but if you did you can talk to them and they'll handle it on a case-by-case basis if you want to donate more and move up a tier. Once the new stuff is all ready there will be a way for you to donate directly to support Idle Thumbs, I don't know when that will come about but I assume soon. soggybagel Posted July 20, 2012 Yeah I was broke and in the process of moving during the kickstarter campaign but now I have money. I'll definitely be donating when they get all settled.
Miles Posted January 15, 2013 Is anyone still waiting on their stuff or am I the only one? I got an email in October saying stuff was about to be sent out, but my postcard never turned up. Emailed, tweeted, and sent a Kickstarter message asking if all the postcards had been sent out, but no reply.
castorp Posted January 15, 2013 Is anyone still waiting on their stuff or am I the only one? I got an email in October saying stuff was about to be sent out, but my postcard never turned up. Emailed, tweeted, and sent a Kickstarter message asking if all the postcards had been sent out, but no reply. Jake said over here: PHYSICAL GOOD STATUS: If the ONLY PHYSICAL GOOD you were expecting to receive was a postcard, they haven't gone out yet. We have only sent out postcards that are bundled with shirt and print backers. Postcards are going out very soon though. If you were expecting to receive a shirt or poster print and you haven't received them yet, then something has gone wrong because those have gone out. Write to support@idlethumbs.net. The vinyl LP still isn't done, but we shipped out all shirts and prints for LP customers separately, so again you should have received everything but the album. (Again, if you were expecting to receive a poster or a shirt and haven't, write to support@idlethumbs.net). DIGITAL GOOD STATUS: 30 Flights of Loving has gone out. If you were expecting to receive that, you should have months ago. Digital MP3 tracks have not gone out as the album is not done yet. Wallpapers somehow still haven't gone out yet because I dropped the ball. They'll be headed your way very soon.
