Chris Posted April 6, 2012 Welcome to the relatively soft launch of the Three Moves Ahead forums. Our plan over time is for this place to get a bit more of its own identity, but in the meantime we still wanted a place for the 3MA community to gather to discuss strategy games, the podcast, and whatever else. More to come!
ysbreker Posted April 6, 2012 I think this forum needs to get it's own banner. Also: Welcome 3 moves ahead!

Henroid Posted April 8, 2012 This kinda solidifies the new era for me, by some margin. Also welcome to the people who hopefully migrate over!
Erkki Posted April 8, 2012 I've been listening to the show almost every day since the Idle Thumbs announcement, sometimes a couple of episodes a day. Really great stuff I will be sad when I run out of episodes and will have only one a week.
riadsala Posted April 9, 2012 So when are we allowed to start new threads ourselves?
Chris Posted April 9, 2012 So when are we allowed to start new threads ourselves? You need to accrue 10 posts (as I recall) before being able to start new threads. We may want to look into a workaround for the 3MA forum on that for now though.

Strangeblades Posted April 9, 2012 I have shaved the back of my neck for the loyalty chip. PROS: Being able to ooze out catchphrases such as, "Helllllloo Gammers" in Dr. Bruce Geryk's voice. CONS: Airport security hassles. ALSO: X 1,000 NOTE: This forum has an eclectic bunch of emoticons to choose from.
Jake Posted April 9, 2012 NOTE: This forum has an eclectic bunch of emoticons to choose from. This forum has a long and storied history of weird emoticons. If you guys want any in particular added, let me know. Before anyone freaks out, it's worth saying that for how outrageous they are, they tend to be used pretty sparingly, which is good. You might also find folks around here aren't big on gigantic signatures or crazy fonts or colors in posts, as they tend to be distracting (which is why we instead let people have giant insane avatars, as those are all relegated off to the left side, away from the things folks are actually saying). That isn't something enforced through code, though -- we do technically ALLOW hideous fonts and sizes and all that stuff so that if someone really feels like bending a rule and going bananas for some specific reason is important, they are welcome to. Fortunately, most people just don't because they are cool.

Chris Posted April 9, 2012 guess I could go chat to all the old timers on the other sub-forums Okay, if you'd like to make threads, try now. I overrode that permission and folks should no longer need to accrue 10 posts first.

Jake Posted April 9, 2012 For all forums, or just this one? All. That said, we have way better spambot protection running now than we did when that rule was implemented years ago. We'll see how it goes in practice.
