morslok Posted May 31, 2010 (edited) AI War: Fleet Command By: Arcen Games Available: $19.99 from their website as well as various online software stores. Windows only at the moment, though it will be ported to OS X this summer and will be made more Wine compatible as a result (hopefully). Synopsis: Basically it is a real time strategy game/tower defense game that was designed from the ground up to be co-operative play oriented. There is no option for player-versus-player at all. It's you (or possible you and up to seven friends) against a couple AIs that control most of the galaxy. Also has a strong emphasis on exploration, both in the sense of scouting enemy held planets for rare resources to capture, and with the fact that you can play the game for over a hundred hours and still see completely new unit types. Currently has a $9.99 expansion called The Zenith Remnant which adds even more ship types to find and use, as well as new AI types to fight against. More expansions will be on the way (as well as free content included in patches, so even if you don't buy the expansions you still get more goodies to play with every couple months or so.)
