  6. Hey guys. We released our Ultimate PlayerPrefs in the Unity Asset Store and we think that it could be useful to you. The PlayerPrefs are Unity’s very basic solution for saving simple data of the types string, int and float in a key based datatable. Since there is no built-in viewer or editor in Unity to manage your stored data and we have not found another editor that meets our needs in the Asset Store we decided to develop this editor. A major requirement was, not to replace the normal way how the PlayPrefs work but to provide additional functionalities. Furthermore you can add this tool to existing projects and decide yourself how deep you want to integrate it to your code. Vice versa you can remove the UPP at every time from your project without harming your PlayerPrefs entries if you don’t want to use it anymore. How it works: Ultimate PlayerPrefs wraps the PlayerPrefs entries with its own PlayerPrefs-Items. An item works as an interface, handles the PlayerPrefs entry and provides various handy functionalities. As there are three data types of PlayerPref entries (string, int and float) there are also three types of UPP items – one for each data type. Get Ultimate PlayerPrefs at the Unity Asset Store: https://assetstore.unity.com/.../ultimate-playerprefs-189597 You can also find videos regarding our tool on our Youtube Channel: https://youtu.be/XI7AAZ6caFA We hope you like it!

  9. New Aztec City Sim

Hey Guys, I am a huge fan of the old classics from impressions games like Pharaoh, Emperor, Caesar 3. The Aztec History always fascinated me and I always wanted to have a game with aztecs in the impressions games genre. Since there is no such game I decidet to create one myself together with a coder. We are in development for over one year now but there is still a lot to do. Here you can see a screenshot from one of our latest versions. For more informations check our devlog: https://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=63983.0 or our twitter https://twitter.com/EmpireAztec It would be so great to hear your thought, opinions and wishes so we can create a solid game.
  10. Hi everyone, I’ve begun creating 2D game art that you are welcome to freely use in your projects. Some is pixel art, some is derived from 3D objects that I created, and others are backgrounds that might be useful in visual novels and interactive fiction. You’ll find them on my new “ART” pages on my website: http://soundimage.org The art pages are located at the bottom of the menu list on the right side of the screen. At this point I’m experimenting with different styles and methods so hopefully I will be able to offer a good variety of things. Please feel free to modify / edit as needed. If you happen to find any of these images helpful and decide to use them, please attribute me in the “game art” section of your credits area. Enjoy!
  11. The Other Eggplant

Well, the results are in... two days early! Weird how that works. But I can successfully say, with an almost overwhelming majority, that the winner of our poll is the title "The Other Eggplant," so, I hope you like eggplants. Without any further ado: The Other Eggplant Another game by the makers of Hamburger Mode. TO BE CLEAR: This is going to be slightly less ridiculous and over the top. That game was a total and unrequited, yet somehow hilariously charming mess. This is not that. This game has a STORY. And PLOT. And maybe even some sort of strange meaning to be found inside of it. Maybe, though. It's not like this is Citizen Kaine or anything. SO: This game takes place in a small tavern at a crossroads in the middle of nowhere. You, the player, are a traveller who was just passing through when a sudden psionic thunderstorm came out of nowhere and was extremely threatening. Fortunately, most buildings nowadays are warded against this sort of thing, so you fled to the safety of this tavern, along with basically anyone else who was around at the moment. The Game: Is a story based game, where you, the player, can take a different action every hour, for 9 hours (from noon to 9 PM) inside the tavern. Actions include talking to the different people who are also staying at the tavern, plotting your course, helping out around the tavern, and of course, napping. That’s just like… That’s a thing you can do. Anyways, there is no specific goal of the game, aside from learning more about the characters and trying to figure out what they are doing. However, at some point during this (probably halfway) some sort of big event will trigger that then means you have to solve a mystery, or maybe go looking for someone who's gone missing. I still haven't quite figured that out, but it would probably be pretty boring to just talk to people with no direction. “Now, Technomagie,” you might be thinking, “That doesn’t really have anything to do with your title and prompt for this here game jam!” Well, you’re right. Anyways, this game will be built in the RPG Maker MV engine, which, if you don’t know, is a game engine designed for primarily making old school Final Fantasy clones. I won’t be doing that. In fact, I don’t think this game will have any combat or dungeon crawling in it whatsoever. I would prefer to have a more visual perspective on this, as opposed to a Twine game. However, it will be important to note that it will be built using primarily images from the base engine, which in all honesty look pretty crappy. Characters: In the next couple of days, I will be beginning to post information about the main characters that you will encounter in this story. However, and I want to put this up here right now for this reason, I'm going to be adding extras into the game as essentially other people you can meet who are just hanging around the tavern. I want people who read this to reply below with an idea for one of these extras, and one or two lines of dialogue that you get when they're interacted with. These can be anything from shameless self-inserts, to dumb one-liner jokes, or anything in between. Think of this as your chance to be wild.
  12. TRAPLANDS: test my action puzzler thing!

hey thumbs! long-time lurker here looking for a sanity check on if my webgl stuff is working for people, and some feedback on an action puzzle game I'm making: try out some intro levels here: http://kevinw.github.io/games/traplands/ and tell me what you think!
  13. I wonder if anyone here has played warlords, the old classic turn based strategy game for PC. Very tactical and with a lot of freedom for the player. A bit like chess, but on a huge board and with loads of pieces. Not pretty graphically though. Anyone know of it and want to have a duel? http://www.warbarons.com
  14. Greetings all! I am a longtime fan of Idle Thumbs, video games, and gamer culture. As such, it has been a dream of mine to make games of my own, and with this current Wizard Jam, I'm planning to do my best to make that dream a reality. Currently, I'm designing a 2D platformer based around the Idle Thumbs episode titled "Real Slyboots," in which you traverse a series of levels in search of the real Slyboots, encountering all sorts of other boots along the way. The ideal game I'm imagining is probably far more than a first-time developer like myself will be able to complete within the two weeks of the jam, but more than anything I'm aiming to get experience developing, and I'll be cataloging that experience on this thread. I'm using GameMaker (which I've gotten little use out of other than casual goofing around) as an engine, and am creating art assets by hand with pen and paper. Finalized drawings will then be photographed on my iPhone and sent to my horribly outdated laptop, at which point I'll clean, tweak, and color them (using Paint.NET). Obviously I recognize that there are more efficient ways of handling asset work, but I find this process to allow for quick transitions between concept -> creation -> correction -> implementation. In my parting words, I'd like to say that advice and criticism alike are welcome, and that I'm both excited to take part in my first jam as well as eager to witness the fruits of everyone else's labors. Thank you and good luck!
  15. EDIT: THE GAME IS NOW OFFICIALLY PUBLISHED. Hi, I'm Smakenid and I have just finished my Android game Tap Colors. I need people who can give me their opinion on the game before publishing, so if you have a few minutes, that would be awesome. https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.SmaKenid.TapColors The game is pretty simple : Objects appear to the screen. Quickly press their color before they finish their trajectory! Simultaneously press both buttons when the object has two colors. Beware of traps objects. The bonus objects oranges, violets or surrounded can be ignored. Red + Yellow = Orange, instantly destroys all objects on the screen. Violet = Red + Blue, instantly destroys all objects on the screen. You can give me your feedback : https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdt4ye4EFgyVqTR4RnbO6YjW8E1oE_LXQuqOrttp5yxNczEHg/viewform [email protected] Thank you for your attention.
