Twig Posted November 26, 2012 Who said anything about stuck? And even if players were stuck, there are a million different solutions to that problem.
melmer Posted November 26, 2012 I wouldn't be surprised if an arena based co-op horde mode pops up a couple months after realise.
subbes Posted December 1, 2012 why is rob lowe on the box
vimes Posted December 1, 2012 Don't ask me why; it's probably the buzz surrounding "Sir, you are being hunted" getting to me.
TychoCelchuuu Posted December 1, 2012 At least he doesn't have a buzz cut. edit:
Orv Posted December 1, 2012 Not enough corroborating evidence for that box art trend yet.
ThunderPeel2001 Posted December 1, 2012 Looks good to me!
toblix Posted December 1, 2012 why is rob lowe on the box I see it too; his gender is exactly the same as Rob Lowe's!
Orv Posted December 1, 2012 I dunno, sometimes I wonder about Rob Lowe's true gender.
TychoCelchuuu Posted December 1, 2012 Nobody has a true gender! Gender's a social construct! I don't think the BioShock Infinite guy is Rob Lowe though because Rob Lowe wasn't alive in the 1920's when this game is set, right? So clearly they can't be the same person. See, I just used science!
Orv Posted December 1, 2012 No, see, it's alternate-1920's, so Rob Lowe was born six decades early.
subbes Posted December 1, 2012 I see it too; his gender is exactly the same as Rob Lowe's! Eh, all right, the similarity isn't quite what I thought it was (Lowe here is flipped vertically and Generic McHero is rotated a bit).
I_smell Posted December 1, 2012 He definately looks like someone, but I absolutely cannot put my finger on it. Also yep! These characters continue to look a bit different in every image.

Sno Posted December 1, 2012 Box art is advertising, it needs to sell copies, and that box art will probably sell copies. That's my thought on this matter.
Vegas Posted December 2, 2012 Another dude with another gun. Sigh. Too bad there aren't any leading female roles in this ga-
Twig Posted December 2, 2012 ...It's a first-person shooter. I don't understand the issue.
ThunderPeel2001 Posted December 2, 2012 ...It's a first-person shooter. I don't understand the issue. Same here. The artwork looks great. One of the best things about the Bioshock games is that they take place in a world that's unusual for games. It's not some uber realistic war simulation set in a war torn city or jungle, it's a turn of the century, Art Deco, steam-punk amalgamation. I don't just see a "dude with a gun", I see an older man with a weird-ass steam-punk gun, wearing clothes from the industrial revolution era, with a burning American flag behind him, and that's far more interesting to me than some young guy in army fatigues. It's weird that there's so much love for Far Cry here if a "dude with a gun" is such a turn off :-/
Thrik Posted December 2, 2012 Not understanding the issue myself either, perhaps not here but I think a lot of people let link-baiting sites like Kotaku influence their opinions too much. I personally find myself immediately drawn in by the box art. The guy doesn't look at all like your average sci-fi/military protagonist — I really like his depiction actually— it's extremely colourful, and there are hints of the setting in the form of a burning US flag, his clothing, and a zeppelin. I'm sure the rear will provide more specifics. I dunno, seems like another of those 'controversy over nothing' things gaming blogs love to stir up. It is not an unappealing cover.
