melmer Posted October 17, 2013 The Goddamn Batman is back! And now he has an excuse to not have any of his fancy gadgets at the beginning of the game because its a goddamn prequel. Not only will we discover the origins of the goddamn Batman, we'll also no doubt learn the origins of the goddamn exploding bat putty! Colour me goddamn interested! Zeusthecat Posted October 17, 2013 I hope you can fall down a goddamn well and then have to eat a goddamn bat to survive. Then there will be a goddamn genetic mutation and you will become... Spiderman.
melmer Posted October 17, 2013 I really hope this isn't a please all bro fest chasing dat COD dollar They have crowbarred in multiplayer after all Also the character design seems to have gone very mainstream/bro friendly with everyone wearing 'dark knight' style armour. Do you remember how big the goddamn Batman's ears were in Arkham asylum, maybe bat ear length is a metric to how good the game is
Dewar Posted October 17, 2013 I don't want to see Batman's origin story in a movie again, why would I want to play it in a video game? In all seriousness, Arkham Asylum was my game of the year, but Arkham City ended up being so-so for me (besides a couple of really cool story points that I was really into.) I think I'm going to perserve my memory of the first game and skip this one.
TheLastBaron Posted October 17, 2013 Well Frank Miller batman has really small ears but I'd be down for a Frank Miller Batman game.
Roderick Posted October 17, 2013 From the get-go, Origins has seemed a completely bland thing. No interesting villains except for Black Mask (the rest is DC B-roster), again set on a single Christmas day (why why why when Arkham City was already that?), and a boring premise with bounty hunters. I'm being harsh, and I'm sure the gameplay will be excellent, but in terms of setting and story, it's the most uninspiring thing they could've possibly done. melmer Posted October 17, 2013 Arkham city wasn't on Christmas, might've been in the winter The Christmas thing is literally the first cool thing that caught my eye, Gotham all decked out in decorations and Christmas trees http://www.cinemablend.com/images/sections/55116/Batman__Arkham_Origins_55116.jpg (I guess all those skyscrapers will be outside city limits) Yeah all the baddies are no bodies but I've started to change me mind on it, it may not necessarily be a bad thing, me and bats meeting these foes for the first time alike. I'm going to reserve me judgement, it's different at least There's is going to be DLC set in japan if anyone is interested, Bruce learning to be a ninja. melmer Posted October 23, 2013 Review copies aren't being sent out until release day
Dewar Posted October 23, 2013 Hmm, that's not a good sign.
Roderick Posted October 23, 2013 SURELY this is the exception to the rule, a decision made to keep spoilers off the internet.
Nappi Posted October 23, 2013 Other warning signs include the lack of Rocksteady involvement and the word "Origin" in the title. I was aware of only one of these things when I (digitally) pre-ordered the game a short while ago.
melmer Posted October 23, 2013 Also extra character pre order bonus, which i don't believe is being offered as payed for DLC like Catwoman was. And I've noticed it's 25% off on steam if you buy it before release day. Get all that money locked in before the reviews come out :/ Also, is it my imagination or is this game supposed to have fucking multiplayer??? Why have they not showed it off As of a couple of hours ago am starting to get a little worried about this one.
melmer Posted October 23, 2013 "The main narrative arc and side missions last about 12 hours," he explained, "and then you have all the collectibles. To get 100 per cent of that will take much, much longer. We have a new difficulty level, New Game Plus is coming pack - that's really difficult - and when you're done with that there's I Am The Night mode - which is no saves and one life." http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-09-29-batman-arkham-origins-initiation-dlc-stars-bruce-wayne-in-asia What's 12 hours in real time? I think this game is going to be a really short remix of Arkham city I've just checked what Rocksteady said about the length of city before release: The campaign length in particular offered up to 12 to 15 hours, and that’s excluding all the extra challenges that players can partake in. Developer Rocksteady has now revealed how long it takes to complete the sequel’s campaign. http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2011/03/15/batman-arkham-city-campaign-length-is-minimum-of-8-hours/
tegan Posted October 23, 2013 Well Frank Miller batman has really small ears but I'd be down for a Frank Miller Batman game. I really, really want a Batman Beyond game. The ears are too long and I miss the cape, but not too shabby.
TheLastBaron Posted October 23, 2013 What have Rocksteady been working on? I tried to Google to see if they had announced what their next game is going to be and all I got was the headline "'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Reboot Won't Feature Bebop Or Rocksteady" and I got really mad. Justin Leego Posted October 23, 2013 One suggestion is that there's a new Batman series and Rocksteady's doing it. Silver Era bat-ears. Autocorrect fixed that to Bananaman which could be good too.

Merus Posted October 24, 2013 God I hated Bananaman. This is the irrational hatred of a child, I understand, but goddamn. The 'related videos' suggested Danger Mouse and SuperTed, and nostalgia strongly suggested I watch the SuperTed intro. I did not realise how much that intro resembled a 4-year-old's story, I was expecting Axe Cop to turn up at some point.
melmer Posted October 24, 2013 Hack in, move crane... is this a watchdogs gameplay demo you may feel completely indifferent to know Batmans Origin is winging it way to me in the post
melmer Posted October 24, 2013 Early reviews, http://www.video gamer.com/reviews/batman_arkham_origins_review.html http://www.video gamer.com/features/article/batman_arkham_origins_batman_returns_but_is_that_enough.html Couldn't really hope for more than that. And people on gaf who have it early seem to like it. I'm glad to hear it's not terrrrrrible.
Squid Division Posted October 24, 2013 I really, really want a Batman Beyond game. The best Batman
melmer Posted October 29, 2013 I really like it. It's a hell of a lot better then I thought it would be, and big! I'm only 25% done It's definetly on par with the other games in my mind (although it's been a long time dice I've played them... Which is probably a good thing) Would recommend.
