dibs Posted November 3, 2013 Here in Ireland it is cake flavoured with coffee, often a coffee essence called irel. Nom.
SecretAsianMan Posted November 3, 2013 Daylight savings time sucks. That is all. Edit: I'm annoyed because instead of getting more sleep or time to play games or whatever, I get to work an extra hour. Also missing all the Extra-Life streams. Second Edit: Upon closer inspection, this is not the Life thread. This just isn't my night.
Ucantalas Posted November 3, 2013 Ugh, is that coming up soon? I hate changing times. I have a hard enough time knowing when it is right now as it is.

TychoCelchuuu Posted November 3, 2013 I have a clock that sets itself (and thus doesn't let me set it). A few years back when they passed the law to shift Daylight Savings Time to a later date, my clock did not get the memo. So, twice a year, it changes itself by an hour. Thus far it has yet to screw me over because I rarely need an alarm to wake up, but it's always pretty weird to wake up one day each year and say "oh god how is it that late" and also wake up one day each year and say "man, I'm up early today and yet I feel surprisingly well rested!" That latter one happened to me like a week or two ago, for instance.
BadHat Posted November 3, 2013 I skim read the last post and thought you had a clock that sets itself a few years back every daylight savings. I have an assignment due in at midnight but between the horrible toothache and the medication I'm on to mitigate the horrible toothache I'm having a really tough time focusing on anything. Seriously, fuck teeth.
dibs Posted November 3, 2013 Ha, I'm just watching an American baking show and the host is using coffee cake to mean a cake to eat with coffee. Bus seriously, try some European coffee cake. Nomnom.
Frenetic Pony Posted November 3, 2013 Ha, I'm just watching an American baking show and the host is using coffee cake to mean a cake to eat with coffee. Bus seriously, try some European coffee cake. Nomnom. Oh I have, ours is better. It is light and moist fluffy cake heaven topped with deliciousness. And I'm saying this as I like coffee, well not coffee but latte's which taste different, but the principle is the same.
Twig Posted November 3, 2013 I like me some coffee flavored foods, but coffee cake as I know it tastes nothing like coffee. And is de-goddamn-licious!
clyde Posted November 3, 2013 I can tell you all that eating coffee-flavored ice-cream with coffee is not a desirable experience. You would think "I love coffee with ice-cream, so coffee-flavored ice-cream with coffee should be heavenly."; not the case. I haven't tried coffee-flavored ice-cream with ice-cream flavored coffee though. That may be worth looking into; probably not. My hypothesis is that artificial flavors taste like artificiality when paired with the actual substance it's supposed to derive its flavor from. I hypothesize that artificiality tastes mentally bitter.
Twig Posted November 3, 2013 I dunno I feel like I'd like coffee-flavored ice cream. I've never had it! Weird, I should have tried it by now. WEIRD. Best flavor of ice cream: green tea. Which is also weird because I really don't like green tea!
clyde Posted November 3, 2013 I've never had green tea ice-cream, but that may provide a great opportunity to test my hypothesis. My favorite ice-cream experience was spicy chocolate ice-cream at the National Gallery of Art. I could barely finish it, that ability to evoke moderation while being tasty was intriguing. Ucantalas Posted November 4, 2013 I actually really like Green Tea, but the only time I've tried Green Tea ice cream, it was... meh. Not great, but not awful.

clyde Posted November 4, 2013 I used to work in this place that had really gorgeous sunsets. Our crew would be driving by these amazing vistas at sunset and dawn regularly. Sometimes we would stop the car to observe anomalous moments of beauty. When ever someone understated the awesomeness of one of these spectacular views, one of the guys I worked with, Jeff, would say "I've seen better." That always cracked me up. Frenetic Pony Posted November 4, 2013 Coffee flavored ice cream is awful, as is green tea ice cream. Which is odd because I drink coffee and tea, but not green tea though. It's like someone said "how can we ruin tea?" and then someone else was drinking green tea and lo, it was ruined.
