That's it, I'm fed up, I'm founding a game studio and I'll start making games.

Happy Birthdays not in the Happy Birthday thread!

Ngh. I'm trying to write 47 comedy bits and only have three remaining to do, but nothing is coming. I've been staring at these three empty slots for almost four hours now. I hate it when this (regularly) happens.

47? Any particular reason? Also, what for?

47 is the number of half-hour slots in a 24-hour period (from 00:00 all the way to 23:30). As to what for, I ca'n't actually say that right now, but as sure as I can, it'll probably show up in the "Plug your Shit" thread.

But here's one short example, since I had the document open:

09:30. Tarot Time. What's in your future? Elora O'Ssssssssss, professional Goth, gives a wide selection of generic auguries anyone can apply to their own lives.

What to do...

I've organised a small gathering of people to join me at the local pub film quiz tomorrow night, when I've just gone and gotten an email asking me if I want to be an extra in a small movie... tomorrow night.

It's unpaid, but it's something I want to do. Should I try to persuade people to join me? (And then let everyone down when they inevitably decline/get annoyed about the sudden change in plans.) Or should I just stick with my original plans and not mess people about. Hmm.

Actually, just writing this out now has been helpful. I think I know which way I'm going to go... Happy to solicit advice, though.

Join an extras agency and get paid for being an extra in big exciting things?

On my way to Enschede; to help out with the 10th edition of Greenvibrations (just like I've done in all previous editions).

You should come and check out the festival, ticket price is 15 euros (with free 1,2L of beer/soda/...). Or at least, I think there are still tickets left. (after part is free, starts at 0:00) It's Thursday, the 2nd, so there's no good reason not to come by. It starts in the afternoon, so you can still go "Douwtrappen" if you'd like :P.

The "that's it I'm fed up part" is about as close as "I want to make different games".

We will make games that will surely be different in one way or another but I can't tell you if you'll love them or hate them beforehand. The concept phase is nearly over for our first game now.

For the paycheck, I'm not telling anyone "yeah, come and work for us" but "come and work with us". I think as long as I'll be heading the company, we'll keep a single hourly rate for everyone even if we reach 10 or 100 people.

For now, nobody will get paid because we'd rather build our first game and pay ourselves with what comes out of it.

You missed a bit: Join an extras agency and get paid a pittance for being an extra in big exciting things?

At least, that's how I understand it. Tonight's thing is a total freebie. That's how much of a sucker I am.

OssK, in all seriousness, good luck with the venture and I think slaving for no wages to get your first game out is actually the best way to start this thing up. Underground and underdog and all that.

Being an extra is exciting work! Before you know it you can sneak into Patrick Stewart's trailer and have a lovely conversation.

And she's scurrying to get them back on, but I've seen everything.

We need a perverted Patrick Stewart smiley head

Well, it's upwards of £70 a (possibly long) day, or more if you do certain stuff (say a line, get your hair cut, take your top off etc). Some people make a living doing it. Not that I'm recommending you do that, but I wouldn't call it a pittance for sitting around looking at famous people do cool things and getting fed and watered all day.

That's definitely better than the £5 I got paid last night for 6 hours work. It was a huge amount of fun though, and I'd be happy to do it again. Although there's definitely worse ways to make a living, even working every day at £70 a day (which I guess is unlikely) you'd be just above the poverty line here in London, so it'd be hard to rely on it fulltime, I think.

Of course, I do have my web development stuff going, too. So it could be a thing on the side. Actually, I think I'd really enjoy that. I think I may take your advice

And one of them is bending over, and in the back two of them are kissing.
