Roderick Posted June 14, 2005 What the hell is Knorr doing outside of the Netherlands? I thought that was a national product. Damn you Knorr. And maybe I'll go to the con some day... when I'm invited to join a panel or something
Roderick Posted June 14, 2005 I figured as much when I strode past an entire isle of Knorr products when I went to the German supermarket just now. Still, it sounds like an awkward name in English. Hopefully Maggi will shy away from that market, or I don't know what travesty the people will make of its pronunciation.
Kolzig Posted June 14, 2005 Knorr products have been over here for decades or something like that. I've never used them though.
Roderick Posted June 14, 2005 Suspicious of European products eh? THIS MEANS WAR. Seriously. Choose thine weapon.
Nick Posted June 14, 2005 Yeah I'm sure we've had Knorr stuff in the UK for a fairly long time. I think on the adverts they pronounce it 'Nor'.
Kolzig Posted June 14, 2005 Suspicious of European products eh? THIS MEANS WAR.Seriously. Choose thine weapon. Hmm, I checked my kitchen and found out that I have several Knorr spaghetti sauce mix packages in my cupboard.

MrHoatzin Posted June 14, 2005 Man, I derailed the thread just like that... We had Knorr soup cubes as I was growing up in Belgrade. Pronounced it kh-NOHRrr in Serbian.
Roderick Posted June 14, 2005 In the Netherlands, we can't pronounce it. We just put up this face: , and everyone knows what you mean.

Okay, I didn't need to know about the overweight jedi. I went to first Sci-fi, Fantasy related Convention this year, but I had to work it, and well, my eyes still burn! OftenK Posted June 15, 2005 Heh heh. Knar. That's like Knorr, only different.
Knar Posted June 15, 2005 When I chose the name, I was hoping more to sound like K'nar. Anyhow, is Knorr some big thing in Europe because I only know it as chicken buillion cubes in the US.
Dingo Chavez Posted June 15, 2005 This thread made me hungry. I guess I'll go get some Knorr tomato soup. I would like to go to Comicon, but I'm in the wrong continent (the story of my life, sigh).
Dingo Chavez Posted June 15, 2005 You're acquitted of your crimes, just like Michael. Speaking of which, Conan O'Brien had an hilarious "news article" about that with Triumph. http://www.milkandcookies.com/links/31636/
