manny_c44 Posted May 4, 2006 As I was listening to NPR on Monday Colbert was similarly dismissed with a 'You should have seen the hilarious Bush impersonator, Colbert bombed in comparison'. Did they not understand he was ripping on Bush right to his face? Did they actually take this as a straight comedy act? What the hell?
castorp Posted May 5, 2006 Did you know that Tucker Carlson thinks the Colbert performance wasn't funny? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=in3ZMJZPpEM&feature=Discussed&page=1&t=t&f=b) Being from one of those silly not-the-USA-countries and therefore not having access to USA-TV I thought 'who is this Tucker Carlson that he is on YouTube and why doesn't he like Mr Colbert?' The famous internet helped. Jon Stewart vs. Tucker Carlson: http://throwawayyourtv.com/2006/04/jon-stewart-crossfire-appearence.html Internet says it's old and known, but maybe some of you haven't seen it. It's funny. DanJW Posted May 5, 2006 Brings to mind a saying about America and Irony. ¬¬ I've been learning a bit of stand-up and on purely technical note, his gags were great. course I also loved his point (and his balls)
MrHoatzin Posted May 5, 2006 :( Stephen Cajones Colbert
MrChlorophyll Posted May 5, 2006 I can stare at that for hours and hours and hours.
Marek Posted May 6, 2006 Jon Stewart vs. Tucker Carlson:http://throwawayyourtv.com/2006/04/jon-stewart-crossfire-appearence.html Internet says it's old and known, but maybe some of you haven't seen it. It's funny. Ah yes another classic. Some say that appearance contributed to Crossfire's cancellation. Not sure if that's true (I doubt it, though awesome if it is), but holy crap Jon Stewart sure as hell knew how to mop the floor with those guys.
brkl Posted May 6, 2006 I dunno. I actually got a bit annoyed at Stewart in that clip. He wouldn't shut up. Give them a chance to defend themselves.
Marek Posted May 6, 2006 Are you familiar with these guys and their "debate" style? Stewart gave them plenty of chances to defend themselves (but they used those chances to attack). Don't feel sorry for them.
Steve Posted May 6, 2006 Haha, those guys don't deserve a chance to defend themselves. That's exactly how they treat guests on their own show.
