Dinosaursssssss Posted October 24, 2014 NASA has made its library of space sounds available to the public: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2014/10/nasa-posts-huge-library-space-sounds-youre-free-use/ I have no idea right now what I would use these for, but it's cool as hell that they're available. Robert Brooks Posted November 3, 2014 Hey maybe my site could be included in your list. It's quite new but there's already a lot of totally free game assets on there already with more to come. they can even be used in commercial stuff. At he moment it's mostly 2d stuff, but I'm hoping to expand over the following year. If anybody is interested this is the site http://www.gamedeveloperstudio.com
clyde Posted February 9, 2015 Lots of images are available from The Getty's open content program. http://bit.ly/GettyOpen Here is the page explaning that you don't need permission and how they'd appreciate a copy (of scholarly papers, but whatever, I'll send them my game too). http://www.getty.edu/about/opencontent.html

clyde Posted April 9, 2015 https://openclipart.org/ has been repeatedly useful for me.This is the best royalty-free asset-source I've seen. I don't get the impression that that even desire attribution. https://openclipart.org/may-clipart-be-used-comparison Thanks for sharing.

Dinosaursssssss Posted June 18, 2015 During GDC this company Sonniss put out a huge pack of royalty free sounds. I've been poking through it a bit and it seems like everything is really high quality. http://www.sonniss.com/sound-effects/free-download-game-audio/ If the DL link isn't working, there's a torrent linked from this reddit post http://www.reddit.com/r/gamedev/comments/2ynqyo/10gb_of_highquality_game_audio_free_download/
Travis Posted July 8, 2015 Hope this is the right place to post a request instead of a useful link. Anyone have a resource where I can make an 8-bit ditty? I just need to string together maybe 10 or 15 notes that sound like they are coming out of an 8-bit system of some sort. It doesn't have to be super authentic, just want it to have the right sound. I could even use an 8-bit note repository and figure out Audacity if need be. This just seems like a thing someone would have made a handy tool for. I found this, which is cool, but seems overwhelming for my needs. If I can't find much else, I might dig in and figure that out, though... just trying not to get distracted by even more toys. Travis Posted July 9, 2015 I recommend checking out Bosca Ceoil http://distractionware.com/blog/2013/08/bosca-ceoil/ Man, I don't think you could have given me a better tool for what I need! This is really slick and fun. Having a hard time recalling middle school band know-how, but I'm getting there. Thanks a bunch! Also, I don't think Terry Cavanaugh can do anything else to make him cooler in my eyes than he already is.
Dinosaursssssss Posted July 21, 2015 The British Library put 1,000,000 images into the public domain recently. I donno how you'd use a lot of it, but there's some fun stuff in there. I guess if you needed to fill a million homes with 1-page books this collection would be perfect. https://www.flickr.com/photos/britishlibrary/ article: http://www.openculture.com/2013/12/british-library-puts-1000000-images-into-public-domain.html

gerbilsinspace Posted August 7, 2015 I'm very tempted to make my next game entirely from images from the british archives. I'd be interested to fail at creating a cohesive style from the collection, and let the collective work shape the game.

RedRocket Posted August 8, 2017 Hi, I would like to recommend a 3D model search engine: Yobi3D. You can search with simple keywords and see the results in 3D. It's useful to find some already made 3D models for prototyping. Please check it out and any feedback is welcomed.https://www.yobi3d.com Thanks!
