Aussie Ben Posted February 11, 2007 Majora's Mask? More like Big Crack Whore's Ass And yes, Forest Temple is where it really starts to kick in. I love the twisty tunnel. We were looking at that at work and were still amazed to this day how they managed to pull that off with the tech they had. When you stop and think about it, there's some fucking INCREDIBLE stuff going on in this game.
BooJaka Posted February 11, 2007 I just came across the twisty tunnel today and this is the first dundeon I've got stuck in. Stupid locked doors
miffy495 Posted February 12, 2007 I am ashamed to admit that after having beaten it twice before, I'm now stuck on the fucking Water Temple again. Last time I beat OoT, I was 13, so it's been a while and I've forgotten what to do. Goddamn needy Zoras. Why can't they ever solve their own fucking problems? Zora-Link owned in MM, so they're obviously capable...
Aussie Ben Posted February 12, 2007 Yeah, swimming in the ocean as Zora Link was incredible. It's like flying, but in water. Amazing. One of the few 3D games to nail swimming perfectly.
BigJKO Posted February 12, 2007 Yes, thank you! The Zoras are so motherfucking irritating. Sure, the Gorons can't handle their own problems either, but at least you don't have to chaperone them through the dungeons. They stay out of the way, unlike the god-damn Zoras. The Water Temple and Jabu Jabu's Belly were pretty much my least favorite dungeons.

Aussie Ben Posted February 12, 2007 It's really hard to describe. That's the best way I can get my point across. It's like you're moving in the water as though you were flying.
Roderick Posted February 12, 2007 That water boss though... ouch!
BooJaka Posted February 19, 2007 I owned the Water Temple today without any help whatsoever which I was pretty proud of. I loved the way the whole thing was centred around that one room. Nice design. Right now though, I seem to be hitting a brick wall, the game isn't really telling me what to do next...
eljay Posted February 19, 2007 I think you want to go back to kakariko village at this point, that should set some events in motion.
Moosferatu Posted February 25, 2007 I just started playing it for my first time too. I just got to the Forest Temple, and I love it. One thing though, I'd always been under the impression that the game world was massive, but, after having finally played it for myself, I think it feels smaller than the rest of the Zeldas I've played (all the 2d ones). It's essentially just one large, mostly uninteresting and barren, field connecting a couple of towns each of which usually have a small map leading to a dungeon. That compared with awesome maps like these:
Jake Posted February 25, 2007 I was honestly gob smacked when I gave Ocarina of Time a spin last year. My mind's eye remembered the game as looking much like Twilight Princess, as the graphics were indeed very engaging back in 1997 or whatever when it came out. I reckon this is the case for a lot of people, and for newcomers I'm surprised they can get their head around the visuals at all. Wind Waker is fairly unique in that it has graphics that'll never age substantially, while Twilight Princess is sadly going to suffer just as badly as Ocarina of Time I think. It always amazes me how much faith gamers put in their mind's eye, as you like to call it. I'm so tired of seeing a perfectly passable screenshot for a new game and reading beneath it in the comments "1997 called, it wants its polycount back" or "maybe this is the PlayStation 1 version," forgetting that in 1997 characters heads in fact consisted of like twenty polygons and a 64x64 pixel texture, if you're lucky. I wish more self-titled game aficionados would spend some time to think and maybe learn a bit about how games are (and were) made before comic book guying themselves all over the place. BooJaka Posted March 10, 2007 The other day (Wednesday?) I beat Ganondorf, the tower started collapsing and to no one's surprise he turned into his "true form". Now, I know exactly how I'm supposed to beat him (in fairness it's not that hard to figure out) but I just really can't be bothered to do it. I'll probably do it sometime soon but at the moment I just keep running out of magic and I have to let him kill me to save time. Shame really, I was getting into it
Roderick Posted March 10, 2007 I thought that was a weird fight too. Took me two or three times. I recall that I didn't necessarily use magic, but I can't be sure. Something with bombs and running between his legs. I dunno.
miffy495 Posted March 10, 2007 If you have the Biggoron Sword, you can use that for the second (read: true form) part of the fight. Makes the whole thing go a lot more smoothly.
