Roderick Posted August 13, 2012 Exquisite! This will make Skyfall a blast.
gregbrown Posted August 16, 2012 New The Master trailer that is my favorite yet: There's also a showing tonight in Chicago, which I just moved away from last month.
ThunderPeel2001 Posted August 16, 2012 I so want to see that movie... In fact it might be my most highly anticipated movie this year.
TheLastBaron Posted August 16, 2012 Whelp, time to get a new Bond. I was excited that Mendes was directing it, but now I'm going to pass.
Roderick Posted August 16, 2012 What, on the basis of the Tintin picture? Or is there a new trailer I'm not seeing? Concerning Bond; I was pretty disappointed with Quantum of Solace. Not because it was that bad in and of itself, but because it came on the heels of the unfathomable Casino Royale. I hold out a little hope that Skyfall will bring an inspired bit of espionage thriller again, but guard myself against another typical Bond romp.
SiN Posted August 16, 2012 Yeah, The Master trailers are my favourite kind: enough to give you a rough idea of the plot, but not enough to give anything away. I'm still not quite sure what to expect, but I'm intrigued. Excited even.
TheLastBaron Posted August 16, 2012 What, on the basis of the Tintin picture? Or is there a new trailer I'm not seeing? Just the Tintin picture ruining Daniel Craig for me.
Scrobbs Posted August 17, 2012 Quantum of Solace is pretty bad. I think I've only made it through once without falling asleep. The new Bourne movie could be quite good though.

brkl Posted August 17, 2012 Quantum of Solace is pretty bad. I think I've only made it through once without falling asleep. The new Bourne movie could be quite good though. Really? It just doesn't seem necessary. And I like watching Bourne movies because I like to think I (that is, my face, not my physique) resemble Matt Damon, so it's like a power fantasy This one doesn't have him, so it's useless! Also, Nicolas Cage would be optimal for a Citizen Kane remake.
circadianwolf Posted August 17, 2012 As I was scrolling down I was hoping the guys in the background would also be Cage. As is, it's just not quite Cagey enough.
toblix Posted August 19, 2012 I watched We Need to Talk About Kevin earlier today, and loved much of it. The whole thing just looks magnificent, there are some great scenes there, and Tilda Swinton was just perfect. One of my favourite things about the film was the soundtrack, and this one has been stuck in my head all evening:

Thyroid Posted August 20, 2012 Is Rome (HBO) worth watching? I heard it got cancelled, so I'm wondering.
Scrobbs Posted August 20, 2012 Some people loved it. We stopped watching it after about the 5th episode I think. Got bored.
Gwardinen Posted August 20, 2012 It was a pretty long time ago that I watched it, but I recall enjoying it. That said, I have a feeling that if you have gotten used to HBO in the intervening time, it will probably not have as much of an impact. It was one of the early BBC-HBO collaborations, which are almost always worth looking into, but there have likely been better or more important instances of since. Moosferatu Posted August 20, 2012 I'd recommend watching it. Overall, it's a solid show, but not an exceptional one. All of the lead characters are excellent.
Orv Posted August 20, 2012 The Spartacus trilogy has a slightly smaller emphasis on politics than Rome, if you just want Roman period stuff.
elmuerte Posted August 20, 2012 Then rome is definitely not for me
Orv Posted August 30, 2012 So Jean Claude Van Damme, in 6 Bullets. The synopsis has this to say. "An ex-mercenary known for finding missing children is hired by a mixed martial arts fighter whose daughter has been kidnapped." Did no-one realize they're basically just taking JCVD's career and making it into a single movie? This was intentional, right?
Scrobbs Posted August 30, 2012 Been enjoying catching up with Burn Notice. It's cheesy as hell, and the characters get a bit annoying sometimes, but it's strangely addictive. I guess I just like the spy stuff.
brkl Posted August 30, 2012 I stopped watching that at some point and now saw the first episode of the previous season a couple of days back. It wasn't cheesy enough for me. The actual "burn" plot has never been very interesting and that episode at least was all about that and very serious. I think the show is at its best with really kooky cases and as much humour as they can manage to cram in it. Does it get back to episodes like that or does it now think it's a serious spy show?
