More gesture and charcoal. Lazy on the hands face and feet, in part because I find charcoal difficult for small details (this is on A4) still I should improve on this. This one was following a video series so was a bit easier than usual, I have a few others ill post soon.

Idle Thumbs Streams
infamous space turtle replied to Nick Breckon's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
If yall hadnt already got enough suggestions Id be down to see Chris play some original Halo. I saw somebody else mention it in a twitch chat so there's at least two people who would watch . -
^ That sounds really nice. Iv been occasionally listening to these ambient tracks on youtube while I work on stuff. Its oddly satisfying.

I wonder what the effect of these policies will be outside the US? Really sucks though, hope this gets nerfed.

Important If True 10: The Rooster's Stupid Secret
infamous space turtle replied to Jake's topic in Important If True Episodes
In New Zealand we call an Ice Cream Float a "Spider". Plus one for the child prodigy/supergenius fantasy.. I try not to though, I mean its just a "What if my life was really sweet" thing and I don't like to open that same can of worms cause it just bums me out. Actually I think the movie Magnolia has a character played by William Macy in it who sort of represents similar ideas. -
[Dev Log] The Eyes of Cheatin' Hitman

I think the suddenness of the jump can also be really effective IE the waiter sequence. Its part of the style imo and I think it does a great job of communicating quickly what larger a game would do with more time, assets and mechanics. There are a few I thought were slightly off where maybe im approaching a door and it cuts slightly too soon but otherwise I dig. Oh that's really cool, I think i'll hit you up on twitch some time. Ah haha that makes sense, yeah honking may make it clearer. Maybe if it were red aswell cause that's the stereotypical clown nose color but idk. -

This sweet sweet laffy daffy game. Unfortunately my computer had a moment and crashed during the send in the clowns song so iv got to go back and finish it but I really like what I saw so far. The blendo esque cuts are so effective, Waiter death sequence in particular. Out of curiousity how did you do the cutscene stuff? Within unity? Or rendered in blender/maya/maxetc? Also there were a few bugs: a green orb was ever present in the middle bottom of the screen which I dont think was intentional and I had a lot of lighting issues (which is probably specific to my computer). Really though I dig your creativity with this thing. -
cyberpunk Chronicles of cyberpunk [Release]
infamous space turtle replied to dimaCyberpunk's topic in Game Development
Oooo this is cool . I really dig the atmosphere, the space is comfortable yet it slightly unsettling. Also it feels really solid, no weird clipping or uncomfortable movement. One thing I wanted was visible rain other than that its looking good -
Been doing charcoal stuff along with the usual gesture exercises. Heres a Miles Davis from the other day. Also heres some kinda old small inkpen drawings Iv read I should draw in ink because my mistakes teach me more when I cant erase them, but honestly it's far less fun when everything I do is fixed-in-stone-ass. Iv since switched back to pencil and Ill take the improvement hit to enjoy it more. Also i'v been splitting my time with game development so here's a gif of my last project. The goal for this was just to do a bunch of basic stuff to get me comfortable in unity and I also learnt a bit about shaders. The games completely dysfunctional and even if I cleaned it up it would be mechanically dull so as of today i'm moving on to a new project.

Gesture stuff has been my focus so I wont post anything as its an endless sea of 2 minute figure sketches.

Idle Thumbs 305: Z to the Triple-T
infamous space turtle replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Weirdly resonant end there dudes. The bit about expectation reminds me of my dads advice to not expect too much out of life. I always thought that was awfully cynical but since a really dark period a few years ago Iv started to change my mind. Also Nick should do more weird old game streams, the trespasser stream was very good. Also congratulations Jake -

Ha that's good, I wish you'd found out what the dreamscape thumbs studio contained. I once had a dream I could impersonate Sean Vanaman perfectly on a telephone, I think i'd fallen asleep listening to thumbs or something..

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I reckon Hallelujah Money is dope, Its definitely not an album banger/radio hit though. I haven't listened to the others but maybe they are being a bit weirder this time and trying stuff less approachable. -
Important If True 6: Get Hoisted
infamous space turtle replied to Chris's topic in Important If True Episodes
Thanks Chris, Yo da man. I just realised I haven't heard that style of trailer voice in many years, it sounded dated to me. -
Hmm sounds similar Cactus. I wasn't stressed and I don't think overly anxious, I think it was probably an anomaly but ill get help if I experience it again. Thanks yall.

Ooo nice! Good plan too, I always bite of more than i can chew and then never finish anything. Good luck
