  1. I'm not going to argue that it definitely is rape because we don't really know DougieCoop's internal world for sure yet. But I will say that all it needs to be rape is a lack of consent. Being married, in love or male don't preclude someone from being raped. A man who loves his wife can still be raped by her if she does not have his consent.
  2. The reason I'm not taking this as a given is that BOB was shown to be born from the evil humans can do. Which to me, says that we're plenty capable of being evil without the involvement of mystical spirits that feed on pain and suffering.
  3. Splatoon is Ink-redible

This bums me out. I think ARMS seems real fun, but I couldn't justify buying it at full price. Hope it goes for a good Christmas sale.
  4. I read this as the result of a long change. In season 2 Ben has just started trying to do right by people, and fix his mistakes. He hasn't had 25 years of practice and understanding to figure out just what that means, and the myriad of ways he can hurt people with his actions.
  5. SID MEIER'S AMERICAN MCGEE'S PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS

My favourite boat moment is when I was just swimming across a river, and heard a boat driving up. I had almost reached the shore, but then the person in the boat started shooting at me. I dove underwater to hide, and try get away but they chased. I managed to outmaneuver and hide behind a rock by the shore. Treading water on the spot, I heard them stop the boat and climb on top of the rock, but we couldn't see each other. I don't know how long they looked for me, but at some point that person was just setting up to snipe at the shore, and I had to carefully swim around then climb onto shore to pop a head shot from behind. With them never getting a chance to see me.
  6. 13 Reasons Why

    I got to Clay's episode.

  8. I got a new cookbook this Christmas, and I know at least one other Thumb did. I'm hoping to cook more new things because of it, because the main thing that makes me recycle the same recipes again and again is my laziness, to not search for recipes and to not try new stuff that might go poorly. Another fun way that may be motivating is peer pressure! A pun was said in slack and thus the Idle Cook Club is born. Every two weeks we'll plan to make one new meal. One of us just suggests something like "lasagne", and with no other direction you pick what you want to make. It doesn't have to relate if you don't want. So if you don't want to make a lasagne then feel free to make anything else instead. Whatever you're planning you can post about what you've decided to make, tell everyone how it went, good or bad! As a club we can offer moral support, advice and maybe even recipes if you're having trouble finding a good one. This is the list and order in which people suggest dishes. If you want to be removed from the list (or added), just let me know! It swaps over every two weeks on a Wednesday. The current suggester is in bold, along with the date that their suggestion is done and the next person will pick. 9. 13 Reasons Why

I'm halfway through this and apprehensively enjoying it. I simultaneously like the concept of the format and also think that the show is constricted by it uncomfortably. The format of knowing every episode will have to display a character being shitty really boxes them into limited corners. I think a visual novel could have tons of fun with this, but a show that's trying to be serious and emotional has to try and pretend this isn't a very TV concept. I'm suspicious of how much of an asshole they're willing to show Clay to be. He's already been a bad toxic dude multiple times, but I'm really not sure where they're going to end with him. I would assume that he's done the worst thing, yet everyone who's listened to the tapes doesn't seem to think much of whatever it is. I'm reserving judgement but I expect my enjoyment to nosedive near the end.
  10. NieR: automobile

AFAIK it only spoils up to ending A, so even if you haven't fully finished the game, it may not be spoily.
  11. AM2R - Samus roids again

I think elsewhere Austin has talked about this and said that "commercial" to Nintendo is more about whether it can affect them commercially, rather than about the project itself making money. It's not hard to see the reasoning behind the idea that a pre-existing fan remake would undercut sales of an official one, whether or not you actually agree that it'd make an impact.
  12. [Streams] Post Your Streams Here

My first stream is done! I might be able to do more at the weekend, I'll post details when I know. For now, the games I have played are all up on youtube. Below is the playlist with individual videos for each game, as well as a link to a single video of the whole stream for anyone who prefers that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzJO8F0FSTY

I don't know if this helps or not, but after finishing the game you can freely pick any point in the game to go back and do any side quests you've missed. That#s fully finishing the game though, not just getting an ending. The side quests are good fun and I think most of them are interesting, though I played the whole game on easy so I cut right through the gameplay faster than you might on normal. Also sometimes there's multiple spots on the map for a single quest, because you either can or have to gather stuff from multiple different sources. If you want advice on doing only some side quests, I'd suggest limiting your questing to ones you get from characters you like or involve ideas that interest you.

As promised I'm going to stream some Wizard Jam 5 games this evening at about 8pm BST (in 3 hours). You can catch me at https://www.twitch.tv/superbiasedman If you're showing up live, let me know here or in the chat so I can make sure to play your game when you're there!
  15. Christmas is Cancelled is my most anticipated Wizard Jam game for December.
  16. Modest Tech: The NX Generation (Nintendo Switch)

I mean, your mistake there is going to a physical shop. Embrace the digital age.
  17. I loved this episode. I won't go into speculation for fear of being hoisted when it's all proven wrong next month, but this episode has crystallised my reactions to the series thus far. The more the Return goes on the more i separate it from the original run and Fire Walk With Me. The original and FWWM had wildly different tones, styles and perspectives. But I still found them connected and thought that FWWM was a good capper to the end of the series, filling out Laura's story and grounding the show. With the Return... I don't know what it's doing yet? I enjoy the experience but I don't feel like it's been meaningfully connecting to the original thus far. That's not to say that it's meaningless or even that it's wholly detached. But this feels like a follow up, a new story that carries on with some unresolved ideas. As little expectations as I tried to have from this series, this still disappoints me a bit. I'm not getting more Twin Peaks, I'm getting a new show set in Twin Peaks. I'd love for the next ten episodes to prove me wrong. I'd still be happy to see them carry on and wrap up my 18 hour Lynchian baptism, just a tad disappointed. Once the series is done I'll definitely look back through Lynch's filmography, the only other one I've seen is Blue Velvet.
  18. Modest Tech: The NX Generation (Nintendo Switch)

I don't think you were questioning my point, but to be clear I do mean "too much to offer me." Also apparently Snake Pass is 10 percent off right now, I might drop money on that to add to my clunkily hard Switch indie collection.
  19. Modest Tech: The NX Generation (Nintendo Switch)

ARMS is a game I would be all in on if I had more money or less options. As it stands, the Switch has too much on offer
  20. Modest Tech: The NX Generation (Nintendo Switch)

The ongoing conversation here means it was a lot easier to exchange a few posts about Tumbleseed, while a Tumbleseed specific thread could easily die without any responses at all.
  21. Is It Wrong To Eat Meat?

If you can get some, avocado on bagels is great. Especially spiced with salt and lime, optionally topped with red onion and tomato.

Thanks for streaming my game! It is indeed tough, especially because there's no tutorialising on how the enemies work and move. My idea was that you can manipulate their movements with the whistle and rearrange yourself into an advantageous spot. But that definitely requires a significant awareness of the systems. I think you're right, and that the visible enemies should just be vulnerable at all times, it would simplify a lot. Also sorry about the bug, it seems I have some fixing to make but at least it's caught on video. Also yes I will be streaming Wizard Jam games (and more Final Fantasy :P) once I'm back from my holidays. Probably gonna stream at least some Wizard Jam this weekend.
  23. Nintendo 3DS

I loved the Badge Arcade. I fell off playing it when I stopped going to my 3DS in general, but it was a charming game that they did a lot with. I hope there's lessons Nintendo learned from the free2play 3DS games that will get brought to the Switch.
  24. Is It Wrong To Eat Meat?

I sometimes have simple peanut butter and jam sandwiches but more often go whole salad. With sandwiches containing some mix of tomato (or sundried tomato), lettuce, red/white onion, cucumber and bell peppers. Usually with hummus or a mayonaise style thing instead of butter. Neither of those specifically helps for the meat style sandwich though, I don't have a good suggestion on that front if you were looking for a more direct replacement.
  25. SHOWCASE WEEKEND // Welcome Thread

Pending confirmation I plan to stream some games when I'm home next weekend, at www.twitch.tv/superbiasedman. I'll post again when I know specific day and time, but I'll probably have to split the games into 2 streaming sessions.
