That was my strategy as well, worked out really nicely. I thought the perfect-strike-a-palooza of the previous day was hilarious as well (get 3 copies of every card you draft, already start with a 50-card deck). Not quite Mind blast + 50-card deck insane, but close.

The one with the Darkest Dungeon narrator is also extremely good.

As stated above in this thread, it's also a fundamentally awful technology that should be abolished.

Yeah, I'm in camp 'most likely good for you' - find something that's gonna give you more family time man

I rewatched it and it was lovely to see all the little hints, but then I also loved it the first time around so I can't speak to what it would be like for you. You seem rather grouchy about the whole thing so I doubt you'll like season 2 significantly more. Ted Danson's performance is a marvel.

So the world record speed run is currently at... 5 minutes!?

Maybe today! Or maybe tomorrow. Or maybe he already has it figured out, but is unaware. Ow, my stomach hurts. Another +1 to both this series and Jenn. My wife loves it as well.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands is politically abysmal but otherwise pretty darn good.

Into All The Beaches With So Many Peaches (Into the Breach)

Yeah there's just no way to have that ability work in all corner cases if it can land bugs on one another.- 35 replies

Ha! Thanks so much for the heads-up, that was hilarious. Ended with 1007 points, making for a respectable #263 at time of writing. Dead branch with four shiv powers is amazing fun. Of course the boss had to be time eater, but the shuriken ensured that I could overpower it in time.

I and the kids have been really enjoying the beauty and wonder of Fe. Exploring the world, befriending its many creatures, wonderful all around. -
Into All The Beaches With So Many Peaches (Into the Breach)

The Steel Judokas are the squad that most desperately requires additional weapons for me. The prime mech especially is just unable to do anything useful so often. This might be the game that starts me off streaming because I'm playing it all the time anyway, and there's always something interesting to talk about.- 35 replies

Tone Control Season 2 Episode 7: Meggan Scavio of GDC!
osmosisch replied to Steve's topic in Tone Control Episodes
Yeah, I think that's probably it! Things also noticeably improved as the talk went on. It's amusing to me to get two podcast episodes with so much crosstalk back-to-back (Soren's talk with Chris is also like this). It's probably partially because you're friends with the other speaker and know them well enough to see where things are going. Anyway, thanks again for the great series. -
No combo beats Dead Branch/Corruption with a side of Fiend Fire

Designer Notes 36: Chris Hecker - Part 1
osmosisch replied to Soren Johnson's topic in Designer Notes Episodes
A fascinating conversation. Some cross-talk as friends are wont to do. It's probably true Chris that there will never be anything like Spore again. What a time and opportunity. Also cool to hear your more mellow perspective on the term 'game' and the gaming landscape Soren. -
Tone Control Season 2 Episode 7: Meggan Scavio of GDC!

Lovely chat! Thanks as always One small note of criticism, there were points that it was a bit frustrating for me to not hear the end of where she was going with something due to you interrupting / finishing the thought. -
Into All The Beaches With So Many Peaches (Into the Breach)
osmosisch replied to Cordeos's topic in Video Gaming
For me Normal feels about right, I lose like 20% of the games. I go for two- or three-island victories on squads that I don't feel will scale well, for example on the fire squad when I haven't found good replacement/backup weapons for the prime and artillery mechs. Fire damage is pegged at 1 so things start to get really dicey if that's your main source of damage after three islands still.- 35 replies

Agreed! Our sourdough streak has not been broken since the time I made that post. Still the same starter culture! Over a year with no store-bought bread now and I couldn't be happier with the result. A good crust and a flavourful bread is just such a pleasure.

I've decided to start aggregating my thoughts on the various games I play on a little site: https://danielreid.github.io/ddgd/ I'll probably do more frequent single-game updates from now rather than a monthly list. Any feedback is welcome.

Ironclad is way, way harder for me. My Silent streak is double my Ironclad one (only 4 vs 2, but still).

Into All The Beaches With So Many Peaches (Into the Breach)
osmosisch replied to Cordeos's topic in Video Gaming
Loving this. I'm not sure how much I'll keep playing it, but for now the different squads are enough to keep my interest. Gone through all islands so far with the starting squad, shield/laser guys, and the self-damage/healing squad. All interesting and different. I really hated my time with the blitzkrieg squad, the pull tank was not my thing at all.- 35 replies

LeGuin's Dispossessed is amazing, and deals with two different cultures, including the views they have of each other.
