Ginger Posted December 31, 2007 Last night a friend asked myself and others if we owned the orange box, to which we all answered yes, and then asked “how did we open the box?” However all there had purchased the game via steam. It turned out he had to smash the box in order to gain access to the disc. I was if anyone else had similar problems, if he is an idiot or if he may have just have gotten a dodgy box? DanJW Posted December 31, 2007 That was indeed, hilarious. I am curious too about this crazy box.
Salka Posted December 31, 2007 I love that, after he had fumed for ages about how he couldn't get the box open, Dan's reponse was just: "have you played Portal yet?"
DanJW Posted December 31, 2007 Well he probably has, seeing as he smashed it open.
Nappi Posted December 31, 2007 What kind of casing does it have then? I thought it was just a standard(ish) dvd case.
BigJKO Posted December 31, 2007 I bought it for the PC, and it was just a standard DVD case.
Tommy Gun Posted January 1, 2008 I have both PC (borrowed) and 360. 360 is standard, PC is a double-thick box (though it was already unwrapped when I got it from my friend). Had no trouble.
werd123 Posted January 2, 2008 ahhh.....The DVD cases by EA Games, borderline ridiculous. It's twice as thick, so you would expect this really thick instruction booklet or some extra stuff but no. The instruction booklet is either 10 pages long or in the case of Half-Life 2:Episode One you just get a piece of paper, one side has the controls, the other is if you need support if you have a crappy graphics card (Eg: Nividia). I got my "Black Box"...well just the new games like TF2, Portal and Episode 2 off steam, just downloaded all of it.
