Holy Ghostbusters!

"Developer Terminal Reality is making a "Ghostbusters" game for PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 aimed primarily at the core gamer demographic, while Red Fly Studios is making a version for Playstation 2, Wii and DS designed more for families and casual gamers"

check out kotaku, the screenshot looks awesome. unless its actually from the film. in that case, how embarrassing.

Hopefully it will be somewhat like the leaked footage from the cancelled game a little while ago. The mess that the proton beams make is pure joy.

That practically all major cast members are returning to provide their talent (in voice and scripting) is a mouth watering prospect (Can anyone else say testing the waters for Ghostbusters 3?), now I just hope it can live up to expectations or at the very least deliver a solid gaming experience.

The screenshot looks interesting - at a glance it seems like it might be an on the rails type escape up the building?

A lot of people wax lyrical about the old Ghostbuster games (never played them!), but I can remember a version on the Amstrad that had multiplayer co-op (of a sort) :D

Ghostbusters 3?! with the original cast?

You know how old they are right now? It was 20 years ago.

It would be like creating a Indiana Jones 4 with the same cast...

oh wait...

The concept of Ghostbusters can make a great Video game, but I just really fear they won't be able to get the knowing humour from the movies in it. It can so easily become an action game without any of the personality of the source material. I mean; part of the joke in the movies is that these supernatural specialists are just average Joes themselves and only late in the movie take on heroic qualities. Hoe could that be translated to an action game in all its goofiness?

Cutscenes? If I get to shoot rays at ghosts and then hear Bill Murray say something as Venkman, I'm sold.

Doesn't look half bad at a glance.

“[The game] is better than the third movie because it lasts longer and there’s more development of the characters.” comments Dan Aykroyd, writer, director and star of the original films and writer of the game.”I tell people this, ‘If you have an appetite for the third movie, then the video game is it.’”

Although looking at the teaser it does appear to be old ghostbusters material and locations so I'm not sure what we should be expecting exactly?

Play through Ghostbusters 1 scenarios then Ghostbusters 2 then new content. At least that would be the ideal.

Anyone remember Ghostbusters on the Spectrum...? It featured SAMPLED SOUND!!!

This new one doesn't look too bad, actually. Provided they're not completely bound by the original movie, hopefully it will be pretty good!

I'm really looking forward to this given that I was forbidden from watching the films as a kid.

Thanks for posting the video Dan.

Why on earth were you not allowed to watch Ghostbusters?! OK it's a little scary but it's still a family movie.

I remember seeing it in the cinema. There was a light dancing about on the wall of the theatre and I thought it was a real ghost.

The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.   That scene when it first appears and Ray's comment after always cracks me up. :D

My Jehovah's Witness mother was convinced that anything with ghosts in it was demonic and would invite the forces of Satan into our house. Also, The A-Team was apparently too violent :tfart:

After being raised like that, I left in my teens because Jehovah's Witnesses are too fuckheaded. So yeah, I'm looking forward to Ghostbusters :)

Try telling them/asking them about that the next time they knock on your door. Really, you'll probably get some pretty good laughs out of it.
