Kolzig Posted March 29, 2006 http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=15709 Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, RedOctane CEO Kelly Sumner has admitted that the eagerly awaited Guitar Hero is likely to be in short supply when it launches in Europe next month due to manufacturing constraints on the innovative guitar controller."We actually haven't got huge amounts of product," he explained. "It's an authorised game with an authorised peripheral and we have to manufacture it within the constraints of Sony's approved manufacturing guides. We can't just go to twenty different companies in China and ask them to produce as many as we'd like." However, the firm's strategy allows for this shortage - and while Sumner predicts that there will be short supply of the game "for the first two months minimum" after its launch on April 7th, the main marketing campaign for the game isn't planned to kick off until September, when the situation should have improved. I checked that the game and guitar bundle is going cost about 100 €. How much did it cost in US?
nsps Posted March 30, 2006 Right now, Amazon.com has it for $69.99. Which, given the current value of our U.S. dollar, is something like 10 pounds, I think. (Really, more like 35)
miffy495 Posted March 30, 2006 I got mine for about $85 Canadian
adfegg Posted March 30, 2006 It looks like it's going to be around £50 over here. Funny thing though, www.amazon.co.uk doesn't have it for pre-order. They say we should get it used.
Roderick Posted April 21, 2006 I decide to seize this topic to tell you I'm no longer a stranger in the land of Guitar Hero! That is to say, I had a gaming evening with the staff of [N]Gamer and we played some. It was pretty fun, though difficult at first if you just jump in. Does anyone else think the iffy cheesiness of the tutorial voice-over is deliberately tailored to make casual non-gamers who play this feel more at ease; by making it possible for them to laugh a bit at it? miffy495 Posted April 21, 2006 Tu... tor... ee... al? Wha? I just jumped right in. I didn't even notice it was there. I figured if I started on easy it would be fine, and was. Glad to hear you're among us now though.
Lechimp Posted April 21, 2006 The tutorial isn't needed, but it makes it a bit easier to pick up the game if you go through it first, and I wouldn't know about hammer ons if I didn't go through the advanced tutorial, which you need for expert mode.
