miffy495 Posted March 13, 2006 Ah, life is fun sometimes. After the problems I'd been having finally getting Phoenix Wright shipped to me, I though my shipping issues had been taken care of for a while. And hey, Amazon is usually pretty good about shipping the right item. Unfortunately, being in Canada and all, they stock french items where available. This means that when I ordered Trackmania Sunrise, I got the french version instead. Wheeeee! Luckily, I speak the language anyway, but not a whole lot of Western Canucks do so this could really piss a lot of people off. This has got me thinking about crap that has happened to other people. Thus, let's hear some stories!
brkl Posted March 13, 2006 I preordered Psychonauts and canceled several weeks after the release when it still hadn't been shipped. Finally bought it I think a couple of months later.
Lechimp Posted March 14, 2006 I got two copies of CD 4 with my order of Psychonauts and didn't get CD 2 at all so I had to call Majesco up. They eventually mailed CD 2 to me along with a t-shirt and a deck of cards.
Roderick Posted March 14, 2006 Lucky bastard. It's always good when company fuckups happen to you. Baseless complaining also helps. For instance, I noticed a flicker in one of the cinematics on my Warcraft III DVD, so I notified Blizzard in France and after a while they sent me the Diablo II DVD as compensation. Score! ysbreker Posted March 14, 2006 Ordered Psychonauts and some T-shirts and stickers from the doublefine store. Took about two whole months to arrive. And I had to pay extra importtaxes That'll teach me to order stuff from the USA. It did get me a cool signed copy, A rare T-shirt (in the NL that is) and a bunch of cool stickers
Moosferatu Posted March 14, 2006 And I had to pay extra importtaxes A little trick, usually if you have the shipper mark the item as a gift you won't have to pay anything.
Roderick Posted March 14, 2006 I believe my order from DF was marked as a gift.
Kolzig Posted March 14, 2006 I got two copies of CD 4 with my order of Psychonauts and didn't get CD 2 at all so I had to call Majesco up. They eventually mailed CD 2 to me along with a t-shirt and a deck of cards. Yeah, same happened with my Psychonauts, except I contacted Gamestop and they just sent me a new copy of the game. (I did get that crazy looking shirt when they shipped the first copy to me) To tell the truth, I sold the Psychonauts that had those double CD 2's. So in a way I didn't pay anything for my Psychonauts, but still Tim & co. got their money.
Roderick Posted March 14, 2006 So you sold someone a copy of Psychonauts that didn't have one of the cd's? That seems like a cruel thing to do. Are you a charlatan?
Kolzig Posted March 14, 2006 Well, I did offer him the missing cd as a cd-r...
Lechimp Posted March 14, 2006 This was a different Psychonauts shirt. I already got the tie-dye (is it spelled tye-dye? whatever) shirt when I pre-ordered the game. This was basically the whispering rock t-shirt that you can find below, but less cool and in white and too big for me . It also had a bunch of company logos beneath the design which I assume isn't on the shirts you can buy from the doublefine store. http://shop.doublefine.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=
Kolzig Posted March 14, 2006 Yes, I know that shirt, I've seen a pic of it. It was part of that one campaign in www.psychonauts.com http://www.psychonauts.com/psi.php It's the shirt on that page.
