As far as seeing a bunch of ghosts of yourself playing out their mundane tasks, there's a great short that's not quite so terrifying and has nothing to do with time travel by Satoshi Kon that I highly recommend. Heh, meant more for sympathy really. I don't know about you but I'm glad "good times" has faded and I'm slowly accepting that epic has taken roots in the common vernacular. I used to say awesome a lot, which some old stand-up routine highlighted as an annoying word. As well as hilarious. Forget who the comedian was though.

Hello...thumbers? Idle-thumb enthusiasts? Whatever you might call this community, I'm happy to at last join the forums after a few years of listening to the podcasts. I'm one of those insane individuals that has decided to be an indie game developer, and I'm hoping I'll find good company under the umbrella of idle thumbs. Looking forward to getting to know other listeners and posting some projects of my own. Also, the captcha to join the forums was one of the silliest word combos I've come across. Wow how did I not know about this one? Clearly I have not seen enough buddy cop movies.

I really liked the look of the machine shaft here: As well as the sliding window panes later in the preview. You could push the look of this game really far into Russian Constructivism and some trippy optical illusions and I think you'd have a game that stood out. Your geometric characters even lend themselves well to the constructivism look.

Very nice. A good progression of the basics that teaches you how to play without the need to spell it out for you. The ramp up in level difficulty felt good as well, made going through the game feel quick which combinded with the challenge can easily lead to addictive binges playing the game. I found the only mechanic that wasn't as clear was the direction in which you spit. I found myself double checking that I had last pressed the direction which I wanted to spit or holding that direction down to ensure that was where it was going. I worry how much that would come to frustrate me as the challeneges got trickier and might demand twitch reactions from the player.

I really enjoy Big Trouble in Little China, but it is definitely one film firmly set in context of its era. Nostalgia isn't what keeps me loyal to the film, however it is a tonic of forgivness when it is clear to see how many flaws it has. The film is full of silly antics and strange story choices that can leave the viewer shaking their head at best and a gaping plot hole at worst, but you shake it off quickly knowing that is just what this film is: magical buffoonery. If you enjoy classic visual effects and puppetry, strangely capable yet inept heroes, and good old cheesy one-liners then BTILC could easily be your favorite John Carpenter film. Is it the best though? Maybe not. There's the additional fun fact about how pop culture influences each other: Lo Pan's lightning tossing minions were the inspiration for Raiden from Mortal Kombat. Easy to see the link of goofy action and strange interpreations of American views of other cultures and "mysticism". Come to think of it, how many movies were there in the late 80s to mid 90s about a white protagonist getting involved in an awful Hollywood interpreation of eastern culture? ...Is this how we got Power Rangers?
