  1. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

    For 2016 they're giving away a Pokemon a month - here's March's which will be available tomorrow - http://www.pokemon20.com/en-us/mythical.html#mar I'm getting back into X and man I love Pokemon.
  2. Stardew Valley

http://nichegamer.com/2016/01/story-of-seasons-good-friends-of-the-three-villages-revealed-for-the-3ds/ Yeah, I buy only a handful of games each year, and don't know if I can justify 3 harvest moon (type) purchases in 2016 (i got A New Beginning earlier this month, because I was jonesing and had a 3ds gift card). If they say that story of seasons is delayed to 2017 for US release, then I'll probably just make the stardew jump.
  3. I Had A Random Thought...

I had a dream last night that I got in a fight here on the forums with pabosher that was so savage I quit posting forever. (Nothing personal pabosher, mostly it was your avatar that stuck in my mind I think to single you out as the target)
  4. Stardew Valley

I actually really liked Story of Seasons for a few reasons - it made farming much much faster than the older GBA & DS games & it got rid of the dungeon style mine altogether. I might try out Stardew Valley, as it looks up my alley, but I think I might wait till the new Story of Seasons comes out and which speaks to me more. The flexibility of playing on my 3DS for this type of game is really appealing.
  5. I mean if someone don't like the core gameplay loop of battle -> catch -> level, repeat, I don't know that 'smarter' AI would solve that. I like that Pokémon is a game that is accessible to all ages and skill levels. There are enough hard games in the world, that I enjoy having a true all ages title. I like having a series that I can continue to see depth and nuance and enjoyment in 20 years later. You may have just outgrown Pokémon games and they no longer provide what you want. Turning Pokémon into a Loma is maybe the worst idea I've heard today.
  6. Pokémon has always been super easy. I was literally 7 years old when I played Red. The hard mode you refer to is online play with other people and breeding elite teams. That's where the complexity is. It's EV training and perfect move sets and team balance. The badges + elite 4 is baby mode.
  7. Well, they gave us literally 0 information about what this game is going to be, so for now Chris, we're all on an even playing field!
  8. Movie/TV recommendations

The Starship Troopers test is my go-to IMDB metric - if a movie ties or surpasses the IMDB score for Starship Troopers (at last check a 7.1), and you're interested in it, it's worth taking a chance on.
  9. For anyone who wants to watch it - http://www.nintendo.com/nintendo-direct/02-26-2016/#/video-ndirect
  10. Movie/TV recommendations

Yeah... that's why i wasn't as thrilled with bridesmaids as everyone else. can't handle all that wahjah.
  11. The McElroy Family of Products

I agree! I think Nick Robinson & Griffin are really funny together, and I'm happy to put it into my podcast rotation! The extended McElroy family is gradually taking over my podcast week Monday - MBMBAM Tuesday - Still Buffering with Justin's wife Sydnee and her sister Rileigh (the freaky friday body swap episode of Sawbones was basically a pilot for this show) & Rose Buddies - Griffin's show with his wife Rachel about the Bachelor Every other Thursday - The Adventure Zone Fridays - Cool Games Inc. (I like Travis, his individual shows don't appeal much to me. I might try out Trends Like These though)
  12. Idle Cook Club - Veggie Feeds-me: My Body Is Ready

We don't have a cast iron skillet :disappointed:
  13. Idle Cook Club - Veggie Feeds-me: My Body Is Ready

That crust looks way better than I ever manage to make!!!
  14. Other podcasts

I love love love Austin Walker but bounced off Friends at the Table hard. Griffin definitely has a specific story he wants to tell, and I'm mostly interested in hearing that story and going for a ride with the boys & papa mcelroy.
  15. I skipped OR/AS because I got X right around when it came out, but I need another pokemon game to pour 200 hours into. Really i just need new pokemon.
  16. GDC '16 / SF thumbs hang out

I live near SF, but it's kind of a trek for me that I can't really manage to get into the city on a night where I work the next day, so the 18th or 19th would really be the only days I could swing getting into the city, but I would love to if that works for anyone.
  17. Idle Cook Club - Veggie Feeds-me: My Body Is Ready

here are my stuffed peppers from this past Sunday! They were good! Here's the recipe I used: http://www.food.com/recipe/ground-beef-stuffed-green-bell-peppers-with-cheese-1356 I did not pre-boil the peppers as I like a little crunch to my bell peppers. I also used some leftover cotija we had from making quesadillas and rather than cheddar. I cooked the rice in our rice cooker rather than try and boil it with the other stuff. I also added a bunch of italian style seasonings to the meat, garlic powder, oregano, basil, thyme, otherwise this would have been very plain.
  18. One Day In San Fransisco

Tabacco told me about Armstrong and my parents loved it. I liked Fisherman's wharf for what it was: A tourist trap with tacky stores and lots of seagulls.
  19. One Day In San Fransisco

Public transit is really strong in the city also. If you have any museums or things you want to go to, make sure to double check they're open, as we had an extra day in the city and every museum we tried to go to was closed because it was Monday. We went to the Disney museum in the Presidio, and it was great!
  20. What's for Breakfast?

Agreed Dewar. It's a few hours between when I wake up and when I feel hungry for me too. The idea of eating right when I wake up usually makes me queasy.
