  1. WIZARD JAM 2016 // Welcome Thread

Just going to pile on praise for that sick trailer. Good work!
  2. Fantasy Finale XV

Ha! I knew it felt familiar.
  3. Fantasy Finale XV

Did you fight him again before leaving? You can step on a pressure plate to make him reappear and he's a lot tougher. Made me realize the real game will probably take actual thought and skill... I'm still pretty mixed on the demo, but that tougher fight reminded me of the boss in XIII where you had to really start understanding the combat to proceed.
  4. [DevLog] Gravity Wolf / Dino's Side Project Circus

Keeps looking better and better! (I missed the original huge gif, which is sad.)
  5. [Dev Log] Dig

I like games in this vein, like Mr. Driller, etc. Looks like it's coming along. Be sure to keep us posted!
  6. Help w/ twin-stick shooter brainstorming

Getting someone hooked on 1-3 seconds of gameplay has to be tough. Somehow Super Hexagon does it. It's an interesting phenomenon, and probably a huge exit point for a lot of people.
  7. [DevLog] Tiny Tires

I was signing up for the emails while hiding in your closet, so I thought it was showing my current location.
  8. Help w/ twin-stick shooter brainstorming

I like a lot of the concepts you have in mind here. Managing the system order before you start, and the general mechanics sound fun. I don't think you need to feel that the U difficulty curve is required. I would just plan to adjust once you have something functional. My main worry with your U difficulty concept is that there might be a dull period once you got past that first hump... but maybe it will be a deserved break, I'm not sure.
  9. [DevLog] Shards of Celetin

Sounds like a good concept! What are you writing your engine in?
  10. [DevLog] Gravity Wolf / Dino's Side Project Circus

Hard to tell that you failed at making the Dr. Kepper look glossy in that gif. Looks good at gif-quality. This is really impressive with every update! Random fact: The Food Lion generic Dr. Pepper was (is?) called Dr. Perky.
  11. 2-Hour Jam

I have now played (and solved/beat/passed) Champ Thinks of Nums and Bad Castle. Very nice projects guys! I like the subtlety in the Bad Castle graphics, and Champ made me laugh.
  12. 2-Hour Jam

Yeah, I can't download any of these from itch.io right now either. It thanks me for downloading, but there is no actual download. D:
  13. The Math Thread

At first glance, this is the part that sticks out to me.. You say Gravity is an arbitrary value, but shouldn't it be constantly changing to be aligned with the ship's position? I'm probably missing something in the unseen weeds there, but seems like that could cause your ship to always align with the same orbit if the Gravity vector remains constant for a planetoid.
  14. [DevLog] Aloft - Airship Pioneers

I really like both styles and both concept pieces! I guess I'd have to see them combined to see how that would look, but my first reaction is to keep it consistent. If I had to pick, I'd pick the vintage look, but it would be a really tough choice!
  15. 2-Hour Jam

This is a cool idea and this is a cool gif:
  16. I am just posting a link to my Unity question here because I am getting somewhat desperate, and you guys are super helpful and friendly. I am porting my little game over to iOS. All has gone fairly smoothly until I go create the archive. Seems there is an issue with Unity Ads when I perform the build. My full question is here. If anyone here can get me pointed in the right direction, I would appreciate it.
  17. [Question] Unity Ads on iOS

I am using 5.0.3 still and including Unity Ads still seemed really easy and straightforward until now. The test version works just fine, it's only when I go to create the archive that I have any issues. I think Ads is a part of Unity after 5.1 or 5.2. I could upgrade, etc, but since everything seemed to be just fine till now I'd like to make sure that's necessary first.
  18. I sent a note via twitter to Jupiter Hadley, who does a ton of quick-hit game jam Let's Play videos, and she's started making them for the Winter Wizard Jam. She has posted part 1 already: [ ]* She only spends a few minutes (or less) on each game just to give you an idea. I find these entertaining even when I'm not involved in the jam. Hope you guys do too. Anyone else making videos of playing the entries? I'd love to see more. *I swear I been using forums forever, but I'll be damned if I can find how to embed a video. I know it can be done.
  19. [RELEASED] Devil's Snuff Box

Thanks for playing, videoing, and posting! I really got a kick out of the whole video. Sorry about the story flashing back and forth so quickly... I literally made the title screen in less than an hour before the deadline. You were right on about the Southern influence and the crossroads legends. I kept it intentionally vague and a little nonsensical to make it more folktale-esque. Something definitely should have happened if you hit the devil's house... a great idea! Didn't have time for that though since I didn't even get to make a background or a million other things. I'm still chuckling about your rendition of "Mary Did You Know?" that was interrupted by a very passionate "SHIIIIT!" Thanks again for doing this!
  20. [DevLog] Gravity Wolf / Dino's Side Project Circus

Man, that looks sick! Really like the style you have going.
  21. game dev teammates

I meant to reply to this long ago... I don't know if I can be as dependable of a teammate that you need right now, but I am pretty much your doppelganger: I might be up for collaborating on something somehow soon, too. January probably isn't my time. I'd like to see what the two of you come up with, though, so if you could update us on your project when it's done, that'd be really cool.
  22. [RELEASE] Happy Happy Krampusnacht

I finally went and watched those "Jupi Plays" videos of the Wizard Jam games. At the end she mentions this site where she will write about a few of the games, so I went there and blammo!
  23. [RELEASE] Button Frenzy

I voted YES! Good luck! I haven't actually played it yet, but it looks really slick. I have to get the controller set back up on my PC... no small feat. You'll have to let us know over on the game dev board how this process treats you.
