BFrank Posted December 9, 2012 Yeah, the Halo 4 story seems bogged down by the two fallacies about what makes good game writing: tons of lore and shocking twists/reveals. These tropes make up what I'd call the techie/nerd pole stars of fiction. It's 'amazingly detailed' plus 'no spoilers' and it represents a kind of underdeveloped understanding of narrative. You can't 'write better' if you're just sticking to that stuff.
Sno Posted December 9, 2012 I get the impression that there are a lot of people in this thread who haven't played Halo 4 and are assuming that the story is much worse than it actually is.
BigJKO Posted December 10, 2012 I thought Kirk said loads. And even coined a new thumb-ism with his brand new delicious dish review score scale. I'm also happy that Chris interrupted him and called him out on the "objectively good" thing.
Coods Posted March 15, 2013 I come back to this cast frequently just to listen to the first 15 or so minutes because it's the funniest thing ever. Hearing how the little diction foibles that Kirk utters are mocked by Jake and Chris is goddamn hilarious.
