subbes Posted July 13, 2012 My Steam window regularly looks like the attached. Right-click "Reload" works but still displays blank. Network Monitor tells me Steam is connecting and transferring data, and View Source gives me a complete page; it just doesn't seem to actually be rendering anything in the Steam client. Obviously I could investigate and search Google and the Steam fora and find a solution, but right now I'd rather moan about it here. So here I am.
Murdoc Posted July 13, 2012 I was getting that today too, I just left it up for a couple hours and came back to it and the store was up... so yeah.
juv3nal Posted July 13, 2012 sometimes the web page will work through a normal browser when the client won't & vice versa, so that may be worth a shot.
gregbrown Posted July 13, 2012 I'm getting that on the update windows in steam, but not the main interface. I think they're just slammed from the Summer Sale, honestly.
Forbin Posted July 13, 2012 I bought Saints Row 3 like a month ago. Fully knowing that this was going to happen :/
Nachimir Posted July 13, 2012 I usually get that with the OS X client, but not Windows, and have always just assumed the former was a buggy piece of shit. Clicking back and forth between the four headers sometimes seems to provoke it into actually loading stuff.
SiN Posted July 13, 2012 I mostly buy stuff on store.steampowered.com ... seems to work better for me.
Roderick Posted July 13, 2012 I'm gonna try to buy my things on Steam again. I'll get back to you with bitching in a moment.
Roderick Posted July 13, 2012 Ok, Steam is being unhelpful. Is there a person here willing to buy the games on Steam for me as a gift, whereupon I will transfer real actual money to their bank? (Probably best done within the EU.) Because of the ending sales, swift replies are welcome :-) [edit] We're talking about 18,07 euros in total.

Roderick Posted July 13, 2012 I wish to amend a certain earlier statement. Recent developments have proven Toblix not to be a crook, but merely a petty knave.
Gwardinen Posted July 13, 2012 If you're still looking for someone to buy things for you, I can do it. I presume toblix's icy heart eventually melted, though.
