Play.com is useless

I ordered an Xbox 360 bundle with Kinect, and some games off there. It shipped on the 25th, I got the box and signed for it, only to open it and find out they'd sent me all the wrong stuff. I had basically just paid hundreds and hundreds of pounds for a fucking Xbox 360 4GB.

I immediately phoned to tell them, and I don't know why I was surprised to find out that everyone in the call centre speaks jumbled English and is apparently a robot. I was told that I would have to wait 48 hours for them to investigate and respond to my issue. I waited exactly 48 hours and received no response, emailed and received no response, and then called them to ask what was happening as I have a useless Xbox in my living room and my account is minus hundreds of pounds. I was told I'd have to wait 48 hours, again, before any kind of decision is made.

A quick google search reveals that this is pretty commonplace with Play.com now. I'm really fucking annoyed. I think I'll just ask for all my money back and buy my shit elsewhere. Anyone got recommendations for where to get an Xbox 250gb bundle + kinect?

I don't know how much it costs on Play.com, but perhaps you check Amazon.co.uk. I haven't had any problems with them in the past.

Incidentally, this is the third time I will never buy anything from The Hut again. I always forget that the cheap price tag comes with a price: I'm willing to accept the longish delivery times but having to wait 5 days for them to actually ship the order is just stupid.

Game usually isn't terrible for prices, and of course as a big retail chain you can always go into a store if stuff goes wrong.

Come to think of it, play..com were pretty crappy with my last order.

It seems to me that the site that sell the cheapest and ship free everywhere tend to have worse costumer support.

Play.com used used to be great, they didn't make it so hard or cumbersome to fix any issues you had with them, but I guess either they lost too much money or people took advantage of it. I kinda did it once...

I got a damaged game once and since it was so expensive to return the game, I simply claimed the game never arrived and got a new one.

But so far, I only got the wrong item once, although Play.com seems to sell used games, since they seem to arrived often open, but they look new.

I still use Play and TheHut, they are the cheapest ones I can afford, even the cheapest Amazon item is expensive once you add shipping.;(
