I don't know how many more rounds we'll play of this before Forza 4 comes out, and how quickly we'll transition to that, or if we'll transition to that at all.

So maybe, I don't know, but possibly.

I suspect we'll transition eventually, probably sooner rather than later if Patters and Wrestle's rabid anticipation pans out. Mean time though, I'm hoping they'll become a slightly more regular thing. I would have taken Pat up on his offer on Wednesday if it hadn't been for the fact that my girlfriend came down with Strep Throat and I was on taking-care-of-her duty.

yes but we are also time-shifted for daylight savings time so it's 11:15 right now. so 3pm tomorrow then.

That's EST +1, not EST, timezones are the worst.

I'm so confused right now. Is this still tomorrow, or is this happening right now? If we're talking about tomorrow still, It's either noon or 1 for me, so I'll try to hop on and check things out.

Deal. I'll be on Steam during the afternoon, so if you're starting and the time that I intend to show up is the wrong one, shoot me a quick message and I'll turn on my xbox.

What are the most common races? I've only participated once before and didn't always have a car ready to go for whatever race.

The only set race is E-class fiat 500 for Iberian mini.

We try to do at least one race for classes E through to R3. So that's 7 customised cars basically.

The E-class race is almost exclusively the "Formula Thumb" in question; i.e. a maxed-out Fiat Abarth 500, configured any way you like.

The following contains extraneous, wholly indulgent car geeking:

Somewhere between D- and B-class, Patters and I like to do a bit of road rallying with Subaru Imprezzas and Mitsubishi Lancer Evos.

We also like to do a B-class American muscle car race every now and then.

But don't feel you need to conform to any of this; it's just incidental car nerdery between Pat and me, and doesn't impose on anyone else. We'll be racing Maseratis against Ferraris as much as anything else.

...normal people continue from here:

My best tip would be make sure you've tried to max out the PI of at least one car in classes E to R3. :yep:

To be clear, I'm fucking terrible. I'm in it for the conversation and good times. I'm usually just racing a factory-spec car in whatever class those who are good at the game (Pat and Wrestle) are in and trying to keep up. Last time, I didn't get a single "DID NOT FINISH" time, a personal best!

This is the best thing about any Thumbs gathering.

I think the best part is ramming you from behind just as you've slowed down for a turn.

Nothing says "friendship" like rolling a multi-million-pound race car on its roof a couple of times. :violin:

It would be interesting if they made the damage to your cars persistent, so you had to pay for repairs, or lose the car entirely. Well, maybe not interesting.

I've got a B-Class Stratos for some rally racing.

Looks like I've got a car for every class that I really like except for S. Never really clicked with anything in that class, so I'll see what I can scrounge up.

S-class is a weird one; you can do very little to most of the supercars that actually makes much difference. You're straight into "race" territory as soon as you do.

(I've not been a fan of S either, as you can probably tell--though that might be more because supercars are inherently ridiculous penis extensions.)
