Tanukitsune Posted August 3, 2009 It's happened on two different games now..... Just my luck... The day I start my vacation... My 360 starts to die... Should I contact Microsoft? And I just bought a bunch of 360 games for my vacation too!
UncleSpaggles Posted August 3, 2009 That brings back horrible memories of my 360 red ringing while playing SF4, those little green glitches are a visual representation of pure evil.

And I just bought a bunch of 360 games for my vacation too! My friend had that just before he got E74 (1 red light), I think they are now covered in the 3 year warranty too. EDIT: similar, not the same, he sent me a photo when it happened.
syntheticgerbil Posted August 3, 2009 If I'm not mistaken, I think you just need to put on your 3D glasses and everything will be fine again.
OssK Posted August 3, 2009 These are the next next gen graphics, don't worry, the future is marching.

Tanukitsune Posted August 3, 2009 My brother in law will let me borrow his, but what do I have to do when I get it? Swap hard drives? Will either of use lose anything?
syntheticgerbil Posted August 3, 2009 Rose-colored 3D glasses? As long as one of the roses are blue. My brother in law will let me borrow his, but what do I have to do when I get it? Swap hard drives? Will either of use lose anything? I don't own an Xbox 360, but that sounds about right.

It will be fine, Downloaded games/content will only work when online, when you get back your 360, check its the same one, there is a way to transfer the licences to another console which is done via the Xbox site. Tanukitsune Posted August 4, 2009 Damn it! I'M supposed to find a box to put the 360 in to? Half the city is on vacation! Where the hell am I going to find a box that big!
toblix Posted August 4, 2009 Try a box shop. It really annoys me that companies that produce various shit expect people to keep around their specific boxes and packaging just in case. Either make a packaging standard or send me a fucking box when your shit breaks.
Tanukitsune Posted August 4, 2009 The email says you shouldn't use the original box since they won't send it back? Fortunately I found a box that fits perfectly! I don't know if it's going to cost me or not, but I'm going to ask if UPS can come here to pick it up, I'm not going out with a heavy box in August!

Either make a packaging standard or send me a fucking box when your shit breaks. I have cupboards and sheds full to bursting of Original Boxes. Looking up right now, I can see the box that my original Xbox came in. That's probably gone past the point of usefulness now...
Tanukitsune Posted August 4, 2009 Has anybody from Europe had to send their 360 to repairs? I've got two conflicting emails, one from UPS and one from Microsoft... The UPS one says I have to fill in a very long and complex form, WHICH IT DOESN'T provide, the Microsoft one just says to stick a piece of paper on the box.... I've got to UPS and it's doesn't seem to have the option to get whatever I need from the paper I just got, I have to make a new one, which I'll have to pay for? toblix Posted August 4, 2009 Has anybody from Europe had to send their 360 to repairs? Yes, and the process sucked. I got some conflicting emails and had to stay at home for a whole day to receive the package when it came back (it would've been cheaper to just buy a new console). At least I got a box in the mail, though.
UncleSpaggles Posted August 4, 2009 I bought a cheap Arcade bundle when mine went tits up, couldn't be doing with the faff tbh. My broken 360 now makes a handy bookend for my BluRay-DVDs.

And to make matters worse, UPS is having trouble and won't even pick up calls for some reason...
toblix Posted August 4, 2009 They used DHL here. The deal ended up being that they sent me a box. I put the Xbox in the box (HILARIOUS PUN INTENDED) and called DHL. They came and picked it up (although they couldn't give me a receipt even though the Microsoft lady said I should BE SURE TO get one). A couple of weeks later they said to me "we'll deliver it on so and so date between 8 and 16. And they did (at around 12).
Wrestlevania Posted August 4, 2009 It's UPS-to-Frankfurt here in the UK, too. That ugly moire effect is what I got several times just before my original 360 died. Fortunately, the grand skeptic in my kept the box they returned it in just in case it died a second time... which it did last week, after barely 9 months with its replaced innards. That's half the length of time the original guts lasted; I thought they were supposed to be making them better, not worse! This time around, however, it simply froze on occasion while reading a disc in-game. When it properly died, it wouldn't even boot before showing 3 red lights. Didn't even get to the dashboard--just a black screen in pre-boot followed by RRoD just a moment later. Fairly certain it was just the DVD drive that died this time, not overheating components like the first time.
elmuerte Posted August 4, 2009 Heh... a PC now sounds a lot easier for gaming than an XBox360.
