toblix Posted April 11, 2007 This seems really cool. It is, however, the first game where I'm stuck right away. Anyone feel like sharing a clever hint?
Mel Posted April 11, 2007 Where are you stuck exactly?
toblix Posted April 12, 2007 Right away. I've visited the two usual people in the street, but I'm not sure where to look for the disturbance or whatever, or if that is indeed what I'm really supposed to be doing. I guess I need the cannon to get Sybil's attention? Is she the one causing this?
manny_c44 Posted April 12, 2007 Yes that's what you need to do. This was probably the easiest episode for me, but also the best. Reality 1.5 being surreal text adventure was totally unexpected and awesome (great sound design during that part too). Plus this was the first episode where interlocking puzzle came in to play, it had a Day of the tentacle feel as you swapped back and forth between worlds. The ideas and plot elements were the best of the series so far-- really creative. Wozniak joke was hilarious too.
adfegg Posted April 16, 2007 I find myself thinking rather oddly. I'm talking to Sybil about her beta-testing. She's said the game can get a bit repetitive. I had a hunch that if I selected that dialog enough times a gag would appear. It didn't. Is there one?
miffy495 Posted April 17, 2007 Man, this one seemed a lot harder to me. Not that that's bad, just something I noticed. 3 things in particular: 1. Painting the DeSoto according to the license plate took me fucking FOREVER to figure out. 2. Realizing that the computers in the control room were in charge of physics. 3. When in the text adventure: Get Bosco's? What the hell? Still, only one of those (Bosco's) is really unintuitive, and even that only took a whole lot of dialogue tree exploring. Overall, well done again. Maybe not as good as last episode, but still more than worth playing.
Tanukitsune Posted April 17, 2007 Since the gag are all internet and game related, this was my favorite episode yet!
toblix Posted May 7, 2007 So, I'm trying to pick up this again, since the last episode just came out. I'm still stuck though. The only progress I made was getting the bug to listen to Sybil talk about a +2 sword. I guess I'll use that later somehow. So, there's the three locations, right? Sybil's, Bosco's and the office? I've searched them all, but I don't even know where to begin. Is the game not giving enough direction here, or is it just me? Jimmy the Rat sez the cannon's not for sale. Well? I have the gun, a boxing glove and the bug. Have I missed some essential thing, like a new location or something lying in the street, like that spray can in the first game? To start with, where am I supposed to be?
Aussie Ben Posted May 7, 2007 Blargh! You're still stuck there! Yeah, that first puzzle blows, it acts like a bottleneck that blocks the rest of the game which is much better. I ended up cheating to get the solution because I knew I'd exhausted everything else. Here's the solution if you want it: Talk to the rat. Make sure you talk to him, or the puzzle won't work. After talking to him, get him to shoot the cannon at you. When he's reloading the cannon, push him into the cannon. Yay, puzzle solved.
Mel Posted May 7, 2007 To start with, where am I supposed to be? After you get done with what Aussie Ben wrote don't forget to enter a place that up until now you've only been able to look at (it's a place missing from one of the locations you listed). toblix Posted May 9, 2007 I had totally figured that out already. Thing is, I started with the advanced techniques, using the gun, the boxing glove, but forgot to just click. I mean it's pretty obvious that there's something you're supposed to do when... ...there's a reloading animation. It's like the Hana Barbera effect of adventure games!
