General Fuzzy McBitty Posted August 4, 2005 How do you know when they're ripe?
tabacco Posted August 4, 2005 They will be slightly soft when you squeeze them (not super soft, though), and have some color showing (not green).
MrChlorophyll Posted August 4, 2005 Never had a mango before. Does that make me an underprivileged individual?

We decided to try one, and it wasn't all one color... part of it was good... but part of it wasn't. I want to make sure that next time I get to make the most of my mango expieriance. Savage Cabbage Posted August 4, 2005 It depends on the mango. Julies, and Peters tend to have a hint of yellow and red respectively to the green. And as pointed out, you should feel a degree of softness to the mango. You can eat the skin though I dont recommend unless washed. It isnt that nice though and may give you the shits. Nick Posted August 4, 2005 Mangos are great, I wouldn't eat the skin though.
