Intrepid Homoludens Posted October 7, 2004 I hereby announce that I will do a gamer's blackout on Psych:grin:nauts. That means no more looking at the latest screenshots, movies, and previews and interviews. No being gullible and getting into the hype, no analyzing every single pixel of screenshots or projecting my wet phantasies on gameplay. Occasionally I'll check up on the game's progress by just reading little bits of news when they pop up (like if it's being delayed, etc.). But until the game goes gold (at least for Xbox) I have other things to do. And no, Tim Schafer is not GOD, he's just some really cool guy with a great imagination who makes games ( at Kingz, Chris, and Moos in particular). Anyone wanna join me in this? I actually did the same with Fable and Half-Life 2. Heh, it's a case of 'ignorance is bliss'.
Pappa Posted October 7, 2004 Anyone wanna join me in this? I've already joined you, kinda, but it's not really a decision as much as I just can't be bothered to do it. Although I did watch the trailer, and got hyped up about it, I just can't be arsed to follow any game's progress by constantly checking screenshots and movies. I don't really read any news either (the only gaming related articles I've read in the past six months or so have been Idle Thumbs' stuff). And although it's the game I'm most excited about at the moment, I'm not so sure I'll get it in the end. So, yeah, I'm with you!
Wormsie Posted October 7, 2004 Tim is GOD. But you're just jumping on the bandwagon, Trep. I've had a Psychonauts blackout for ages, my main news source for ANYTHING being Double Fine Action News.
Intrepid Homoludens Posted October 7, 2004 What are you talking about? I started this bandwagon over at AG with Half-Life 2 several months ago. And no, it's not a fashion trend, either, it's a good way to prevent what happened with games like Fable. You should go see its official forum, my god the ugliness that's going on there right now is hilarious. Both Mr. Molly Knew's fault and his fanbois' and so on. And if Tim Schafer is god then so am I, and you, and the next person.
Wormsie Posted October 7, 2004 I have my own wagons.
Intrepid Homoludens Posted October 7, 2004 My wagon is sexier. And it vibrates. And Swordmaster likes to ride on it.

Roderick Posted October 7, 2004 Tim Shafer is God. But I shall join you, Intrepid Homoludens! From now on, I'll only glance occasionally at the game when a screenshots happens to drift by, but no more readings on it, actively browsing websites or perusing analytic texts on the subject! And promising myself to judge the game on its own merits, whatever they may be!
Intrepid Homoludens Posted October 7, 2004 Tim Shafer is God. Fine. God. Good. Whatever. But even if he is GOD he ain't getting any free drinks out of me. Anyone up for some margaritas?!
MrHoatzin Posted October 7, 2004 Anyone up for some margaritas?! Yes please.
Erwin_Br Posted October 7, 2004 I don't believe in Tim. If he really exists, then why didn't he make Grim Fandango sell twice as much? Or even better? And why isn't he creating more adventure games? And, uh, maybe world piece or something? Yeah, that'd be nice too. --Erwin

Wormsie Posted October 8, 2004 Reading the first news postings from the pre-Yufster era makes me cry. Almost. You were so naive and innocent, Kingz, and full of hope. What happened to you?

Man, you need some serious counseling....and balls. I stood up to her, even made her want me. I could be of help. If I'm in the mood, that is. But alas, I have moved beyond mere muffins and found my lighthouse in Oregon.* * to wormsie.
Salka Posted October 8, 2004 I didn't do anything. I don't know what you're talking about. The honesty ship has set sail, and I'm standing at the starboard with my hair blowing in the wind. The wind of Honesty.
