Programming is not difficult developing software is. Just like writing text is easy compared to writing a novel.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
elmuerte replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
All development happens on the PC, the engine runs on the PC. But it runs on developer PCs which are usually insanely powered, especially in case of engine developers. The optimization is done for the targeted platforms. But, optimization can still take a shit load of time, but only for a few programmers. So it should not cost as much. The closer the architectures are, the easier it is to optimize. -

First rule in business: if a company is defaulting on paying employees, bail. Both if you're an employee or a company doing business. You can be late in paying your bills to companies, but not paying your employees is a death sin. -
it would only be disrespect if those the people who contributed their skeleton did not receive credit

Idle Thumbs 170: Esophagus Sarcophagus

He looked like a normal guy in 2000. So, in the 80s we had the following ripped action heroes: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stalone, Jean Claude van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Carl Weathers, Jackie Chan (although more lean than a muscle head) Not really ripped: Bruce Willis, Peter Weller (well, robocop has metal abs , Kurt Russell, Harrison Ford, Michael Dudikoff, Eddie Murphy, Steven Seagal, Rutger Hauer, Chuck Norris Not included because of age: Charles Bronson, Clint Eastwood -

It took me a while to find the ladder to drop down on the wire thingy. It took me a while to find the empty glass. Stuff like that. They were near invisible, and the visual queues take a little while to show up so they are easy to miss.

Idle Criterion Film Club Week 4: Viridiana (1961)
elmuerte replied to prettyunsmart's topic in Movies & Television
Shit, I forgot that I still have to watch this movie -
It's a rather short game, and also, just episode 1. Next episodes might get made when this episode is commercially successful enough and will be sold separately. The controls are a bit annoying at times, aiming with your flash light in order to start interaction possibilities. But the worst part is the pixel hunting you have to do on occasion. I wasted quite some time to find missing pieces in the puzzle. Other than that the game was quite enjoyable, and I will most likely play the next episode.

No, that's a translation problem, he implied photos. He may have been hitting on me, but given the fact that it was only a few seconds he could have seen me before approach I doubt it. It's not the first time something weird like this happend to me. About a year ago I sat opposite from 2 american girls in the train back home. They were extremely religious, and I was wearing a Nakatomi Plaza t-shirt. I actually had to explain to them that it was a t-shirt from a movie, and that I was not from LA. Their Dutch was quite good given the fact they were in the Netherlands for only 6 months.

suits at publishers still don't get that people are loyal to developers, and then studios, and then platforms. nobody cares about publishers.
