  1. Stranger Things

Stranger Things is a new Netflix scifi series which feels a lot like a 80s scifi, which I think was also the purpose. I only saw the first episode but it's intriguing.
  2. Psychonauts 2

    And I really love puns
  3. Idle Thumbs Hiatus

I'm sure it will become more alive again when Spelunky 2 is released and Chris starts posting his daily runs.

Bud Spencer & Terence Hill - Slaps And Beans A river city ransom like beat 'em up as a tribute to the Bud Spencer & Terence Hill action comedy movies. If you're not into those movies you properly won't enjoy this much. It is relatively short, and it doesn't never cover all movies. But I had a lot of fun anyway. The game lacks proper fighting controls, there aren't any combo's you can actually perform. The racing minigame is almost unplayable with a controller. etc. A whole bunch of minor flaws. But it has a lot of references to the movies, and some of the original songs.
  5. Missions that made you quit

Max Payne 3, the airport. I think it's the second encounter in the baggage claim area where you have to climb up while being attacked. Enemies keep respawning until you push through enough. So you cannot take your time to kill off everybody with the short supply of ammo you have.

There's definitely a lot of practical effects in Ash vs Evil Dead. Or... they did a really good job to mimic the look of practical effects in CG. Season 3 is much more fun so far than 2.
  7. I Had A Random Thought...

you know, it's a figure of speech
  8. GOTY of the Year

I'm going to vote Stories Untold for GOTY of the Year 2017. Prey was great, Wolfenstein 2 was fun, Uncharted: Lost Legacy was exciting. But Stories Untold was something else.
  9. What about the weird dodging rolls which often happens when you try to run... Pro-tip: disable aim assist. Firing your gun suddenly doesn't feel like shit. Pro-tip 2: disable v-sync and add "-window-mode exclusive" to launch options the game won't become a sluggish mess after a while
  10. Pinball Club

I said balance it, not level it. Something can be balanced, but not leveled.
  11. Pinball Club

well, obvious classic scoring as that balances the playing field
  12. Pinball Club

Well, instead of posting your highscore here and timing the thing you can simply do it all in-game. With the physics changes quite a few tables are slightly different. I noticed this really in Skyrim, hitting the skillshot is much more difficult now.
  13. Pinball Club

Pinball FX3 is out. With cross play between PS4 and Steam; and XBox, Windows 10 and Steam. With custom tournaments. Most of your Pinball FX2 will be imported in 3 for free.

  17. Valerian

There's a completely different comic style of the US vs Europe, there European comics have way deeper lore and leave much more to the readers imagination due to the fact that there's maybe a story once a year and not every two weeks. I'm sure that certain person has a big backstory in the comics. Just like the .
  18. Valerian

Yep, and that's why it's a horrible medium to present a large and complex world. Apparently the Dark Tower is also suffering from it.
  19. Valerian

Well I liked the movie, so you are both wrong. I never read any of the comics, but after seeing the movie it's really clear that the series was a big influence on Besson when he wrote Fifth Element. For the Fifth Element Besson was able to construct the whole world and characters from scratch. But for this movie he had to write a story for a well established world, and to make it work try to introduce viewers to this world within a short time. The Fifth Element is really compacted as a world for just what is needed for the movie, as there does not exist anything outside of the movie. A sequel to Fifth Element makes little sense. Another Valerian movie will make sense, because they can have a butt load of other adventures in that world. I would really like another movie in 5 years or so.
  20. Thanks for making me feel old by mentioning UT3, and making it worse by saying that it was "before Idle Thumbs".
  21. Full Throttle Remastered

Checked out the first 10 minutes. It was not until I pressed F1 my mind registered the remastering of everything. Looking forward to the play the other minutes.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition This is basically a re-release of the original with GWFL replaced with Steam. Just like the first release it is still a fun game. Over the top action where at every kill you feel like a real bad ass, combined with over the top (dumb) dialogues. It's simply great. And the game still looks cool, except for the lip sync... that looks really dated. The large detailed and colorful scenery is still a really refreshing sight in FPS games. Because this version is now released by Gearbox they added a option to play as Duke Nukem instead. This is a basically a model and VO swap for the main character. Nothing really changes, except that the work on Duke Nukem is quite bad. It's best to play it with the original character.

Stories Untold Holy crap this game is good. If you look at the media it looks similar to that Stranger Things TV series. It sort of is. I can't tell much more, it would spoil too much. Maybe The Stanley Parable but as 80s horror would be the best description?
