  1. Is it time to move back here?

yeah, this was a weird one. I guess it got sold to a gambling company who basically wrecked the whole site. Kind of a big bummer to see all the forums get wiped since there was a lot of history (both good and bad) in there.
  2. WTF is Telltale's new game?

And now this game is old enough to get a remaster https://store.steampowered.com/app/3897800/Poker_Night_at_the_Inventory/ I'm happy to see that Skunkape is continuing to remaster Telltale's games and it wasn't just a one off (three off?) with the Sam & Max remasters. My dream one is Monkey Island but I'm assuming that's maybe a weirder one to work out the rights to and a lot more work.
  3. very late to the party but congrats on the release! I plan on picking it up soon and it's been nice seeing the positive reviews for it
  4. Recommend me a cool book!

Some of the things I've read in the last month or two that I've enjoyed have been (all links go to Storygraph). Again, mostly sci-fi and fantasy but I like what I like I guess Disability Visibility: First-Person Stories from the Twenty-First Century by Alice Wong A Mouthful of Dust by Nghi Vo (I mentioned Nghi Vo above. It's another novella in the Singing Hills cycle) More Bugs by Em Reed Spread Me by Sarah Gailey
  5. This one is now getting a sequel! https://store.steampowered.com/app/3032010/The_Supper_New_Blood/
  6. Switch 2

Just got me and I'm really enjoying it so far. I've really mostly been playing Mario Kart World on it but I love that. The Welcome Tour is......fine. I'm really hoping some adventure games for the Switch 1 get the mouse controls ported to them.
  7. Is it time to move back here?

Definitely failed but I feel compelled to keep posting here since it's now the oldest forum I've posted at that's still going! Adventure Gamers recently had their forums suddenly shut down after being sold off to a gambling company, and that was the place where I discovered Idle Thumbs
  8. I don't know if I've ever seen the reactions to a main Civ game be so divisive, even more so than 5, which kinda makes me interested in playing it and seeing what happened.
  9. Marvel movies

Wasn't Giancarlo's character added in during reshoots?
  10. Yeah, I had a good time with Four Last Things too. Haven't played the sequels yet
  11. 10 Days of Happiness

Really curious to see how it turns out!
  12. Is it time to move back here?

oops, almost forgot about this. Good thing I remembered near the end of the first week
  13. Recommend me a cool book!

What do you like to read? I got back into reading a lot last year and novellas and audio books were what made that transition easier. I am currently reading a lot of Sci-fi and fantasy lately so I've been into the Murderbot series and novellas by Nghi Vo.
  14. Is it time to move back here?

I will also take the Idle Thumbs Forums challenge
  15. How's everyone doing? Been awhile

I'm too much of a coward and not active in either or else I'd post in both the Idle Thumbs slack and Nick Breckon discord that Well Actually, people should post here too
  16. I might have to rewatch the show now to celebrate Lynch's life.
  17. Switch 2

I'm looking forward to it. I know it looks like it will just be an upgraded model but the possible mouse functionality could be fun
  18. Fresh Indie Game Compendium Extraordinaire

I was the last one to post here but it's been over two years so I think it's ok for me to post again. Die for the Economy By: Tea Monster Games Available: $7.99 (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3266590/Die_for_the_Economy/) Synopsis: Arcade game inspired by the 80s classic Berzerk. You make your way through an office blasting robots and servers and then must escape.
  19. UFO 50

I'm still pretty early on because I stay on each game too long so I'm not ready to call any favorites but I agree, it's great! It was a really good year for games anthologies. This page listed a few that came out last year https://www.pressplaygaming.net/articles/2024/12/10/ppg-game-of-the-year-2024-57-antholo-geeze-this-is-a-great-collection-of-anthologies
  20. I just wanted to say that the ending of Return to Monkey Island is Good, Actualy
  21. Is it time to move back here?

I never actually posted on the Mojo forums (just AdventureGamers) what if....this is the year I register? But yes, there's a lot I'm kind of tired of with social media. I happily ditched Twitter when it got sold and I'm fine with Mastodon for communicating with the mutuals that only post there, but I don't see that getting any bigger and Bluesky is already bumping into the issues that Twitter was having from growing. I think the character limits and having to refresh the feed are frustrating too. I got really into RSS last year and that's actually been really fun.
  22. Oh wow, I didn't realize you used to post here. I'm a bit late but I just wanted to say that this whole collection is incredible, one of the best games of last year, and thank you for making it!
  23. Is it time to move back here?

It's time for the Idle Thumbs forums to be active again
  24. Fresh Indie Game Compendium Extraordinaire

Memphis, Bubbleland By: Sand Gardeners Available: Free/Pay-What-You-Want (https://sandgardeners.itch.io/memphis) Synopsis: This is an online multiplayer narrative game about tomb raiding, retail executives and monuments. You can only access the game at specific times scheduled by the developers. When a scheduled time comes up, you grab a seat on the bus and go on a 20 minute tour.
  25. I really like MI3 too! For what it's worth, Ron said it's still canon on Twitter, which is surprising to me because he previously said if he got to make another game he would ignore the ones he didn't work on. I don't know what this means for Escape and Tales or if this was a thing pushed by Disney but there you go.
