  1. Wizard Jam 4 Feedback

I like that idea, as long as it's made clear only those who ant the feedback will get it. (I'm not sure I could take the embarrassment of Tim Schafer politely trying to think of something positive to say about Buble Bloodborne Bloodbeef!)
  2. Wizard Jam 4 Feedback

There is already a way to let other jammers know that: post on their threads and itchio pages! I don't really like the idea of awards either, even if they are silly. Feels too stressful, and I'd much rather get a handful of comments on my thread...
  3. Wizard Jam 4 Feedback

Yeah. Chris kept saying on the 'cast that you had to pick an episode title, but that has only been the case for Jams 1 & 3.
  4. [Release] Bogost in the Shell

It's possible, I did it twice, that's why I mentioned it!
  5. [Release] Bogost in the Shell

Yeah, at least a couple of us on Slack were stuck at that bit - it seems if you can't see your character you forget there's a jump button! Perhaps having the box rattle when you do stuff would alleviate that?
  6. Wizard Jam 4 Feedback

We were discussing on Slack the balance between no rules being a relaxed, encouraging environment while also perhaps allowing projects to slip into never-completed status. Perhaps people could be encouraged to hit some kind of completion for the deadline, even if they intend to do a ton of updates afterwards (Eyes Of Hitman being a good example of this). That could be a slippery slope into rules, though. I thought the overuse of Dot Gobbler was hilarious this time and tied in well with the shared universe thing, but there perhaps should be a (suggested) moratorium on him for at least the next jam (this will probably be easier if a few more 3D models get shared)... I can't speak to the rest so much due to the last-minute nature of my entry, but: perhaps Jam organisers could pimp the team-building thread a bit more, even as an assistance request thread? Every time someone posts in their thread about needing a bit of voice-acting or whatever, advise them to use the team-building thread! Diversifiers seemed to work well
  7. Welcome to Wizard Jam 4!

Hear hear, thanks elvaq and everyone who helped bring another brillo WizJam to fruition! And I'll echo Arthur in congratulating everyone who made something (even those that didn't get finished) - all interesting, amazing stuff!
  8. [Release] The House on Holland Hill

Is that the one? If so, I absolutely snuck in!
  9. Creepers, it's Christmas! (2016)

Okay, Roderick won, shut the thread down, no further Christmas posts needed!
  10. [RELEASE] Another Chill Hell

Really cute and good fun - has that 'putting out fires' aspect of all good match-3s!
  11. [Release] The House on Holland Hill

I did the same as Henke but the sliding door is locked, I'm afraid! Anyway, this is fantastic. Really confident and effective storytelling with a cumulative tension. Nice visuals and writing, too.
  12. [Dev Log] Real Slyboots

    Cool idea and nice presentation!
  13. I'm going to write a game where you can tear that Rubik fuck apart cube by cube.
  14. [RELEASE] The Hypersonic Effect

Phenomenal! Pitch perfect aesthetic with the combination of VHS menus, visual and audio glitching and 2D spaceship mechanics. Speaking of which the mechanics are that great combination of easy to understand, fun to master and a combination of simple elements that escalate the difficulty when combined. And I didn't find this one punishingly difficult - I still only got to level 12 (perhaps a baby setting would have the boost give you slightly less speed!) but I feel like I could develop my muscle memory and get further.
  15. [RELEASE] Baboo!

Cheeseness has now made me a build with an icon and proper folder/binary names! I've updated but it's not worth a re-download. Re. the view range, I suppose it's always good to have the option. I would probably still keep my settings as is in future games, though, for the reason you give about losing the 3D space. I think the key is to teach the player rules about where they should look for things (eg if I hadn't wanted to hide the billboards, I could have had supports for them at ground level, or I could have filled the sky with stuff to look at so players knew it was always worth checking out).
  16. Ah, okay, I wasn't hearing it, but maybe my volume was too low and I was too scared to get close to the zombies for long enough! Phew - shared universe intact!
  17. [Release] Bogost in the Shell

This is gorgeous! Lovely graphics and audio, a rich world, nice cyberpunk presentation and really sweet simple little puzzles. My only criticism is that, as far as I can tell, if you mess up with the bottles it's a dead end as they don't replenish.
  18. This is absolutely beautiful - the directed opening moments, the music, the animation and of course the visuals. So atmospheric, I really want to spend longer in the castle! I'd love to see you expand out the castle a bit, lower the difficulty (I generally got about two punches in before dying!) and have some Hellboy-style backstory to discover, all creepy portraits and tableaux morts. Nice Mignola-esque thumb logo on the tiles, btw! Did you never use the audio assets you shared with me, though? Maybe I should have put the organ music in there instead! EDIT: oh, you should edit your OP to change the bit about restarting.
  19. This is great! Lovely intro comic, funny prop choices (that hat and those ropey looking parasols are brilliant choices) and most importantly a clever mechanic - using the shadows in a 3D world to judge where things are going to fall. I could definitely play a lot more of this if you expanded it out and added a bit of visual and audio polish.
  20. [Release] The Octopus in My Mind

Very cool idea and a fun control scheme that takes a little while to master but then is very satisfying as you coax your squid around the level. Nice choice of thought memes too! It would be nice to get some more feedback when you block a thought (perhaps a random audio clip of one of the Thumbs losing, giving up on or solidifying a train of thought? Must be hundreds!) and to play with the thought-types feature you originally mentioned.
  21. [RELEASED] Clone-Ridden Fields

Very nicely put together. This has the makings of a cool clicker game - get different types of souls going, etc.
  22. [RELEASE] Priority Businessing

Ah, I hadn't paid attention to how the chip spaces worked!
  23. [RELEASE] Priority Businessing

Sweet! Still found it a little tricky with the key but not half as bad. I still found the bit with the two keys tricky and then I couldn't get the briefcase to work at the end. Really awesome game, but damn fiddly!
