  1. If you want some ambient "Biscuit" boxes, I have made a "Veggie" Panino's Veggie "Paninis" box a la Triscuit design for my game. Dot gobbler needs company in the Wizard Jam Asset Lore...haha.
  2. [Release] Super Hollyweedland

I hope the goal of this game is to turn those 'O's into 'E's
  3. [Release] A Thousand Dormant Machines

Nice progress. And that square enix gif intro is *chef kiss*
  4. WIZARD JAM 5 // Welcome Thread

Heck, you could even do a table top game. Watching the thumbs stream a printed out board game wizard jam game would be fun! Also, can't wait to partake in this jam! I am going to be a bit jet laggy, but I want to try to resurrect my "Cruisin' For Somethin'" walking simulator follow up that I abandoned last for WJ4. Wooo!
  5. I am genuinely giddy to listen about the streets of rage cover art. I read a good chunk of that thread a while back and it was mind boggling.
  6. I have to say I am a fan of the more internationally-flavoured "WC" signage. Sometimes those are gendered with stick figures, but often they are not.
  7. Before this episode I'd never heard of pizza robot bands. I've now seen photos of them, which makes the Rock-Afire-Explosion-Fire segment and content SO MUCH MORE horrific. The suggestion of using the Rock-Afire band to record a replacement video of the important if true theme and/or opening segments makes me very happy. Might I also suggest a patreon tier of "get Chris to say things in that weird 'f*cking pizza robooots' voice" (around 31:45). Would probably pay some cold hard cash for custom messages in that voice.
  8. Hey thumbs, this was a super start to a new podcast. I enjoy the general "here's a fact, let's riff on the what ifs" format. In fact, it was one of the aspects of Idle Thumbs I enjoyed more than most other gaming podcasts. "Yes, video games, but also weird tangential stuff". Totally read this as Harry Potter. "Howard Porter and The Legendary Hanna Barbaras" I'll log out now.
  9. That's a me, Mario! Here's a snap of the sweet bounty I hath been given this fine idle santa. An excellent LttP graphic novel, delicious candies, and one of the best OSTs ever. Woo! (Thanks a lot, @pabosher)!
  10. [Dev Log] The Bear's Black Heart

I really love the art in this game.
  11. This is very good. Came for the art, stayed for the "salty red sphere judging me" narrative. Also I cant tell if the shader broke eventually or what, but I got some cool looking pipes out of the deal:
  12. [Released] Most Memorable Maid

I really enjoyed the menu, and the general look and feel of the robots. However, I had a hard time knowing what to do, even after reading the how to play page. I got a really bad score, but still had some fun making the robots look different and watching them animate around stealing stuff.
  13. [RELEASE] MID JAM POWER MOVE

This was fun and silly, nice job. The expression on dot gobbler's face never gets old, and is a perfect pairing with that game over button/screen. Also I liked the cars. They had a sweet mid 90s "daytona usa"/"need for speed" feel.
  14. [RELEASED] Cheatin' Hitman

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Also nice touch with the 'ending' note Very clever.
  15. [Released] A Good One

This was really good I found a bridge and did a sweet jump. The intro was a delight as well.
  16. Not sure if I'll have the gas to get this thing to town, but I've got to try.
  17. [Frozen In Carbonite] Sorrow and Horror

I haven't put any real dev hours into it since last week, unfortunately. I really want to go back to it. Possibly over the holidays.
  18. [devlog] mid-jam power move

This is the most ambitious of mid-jam power moves
  19. [Dev Log] Rolling With the Pope

    That trailer is so good!
  20. [RELEASE] Pizza Tonight!

What a weird and wild game. [rot13 spoilers: V ybir gung gur qrsnhyg fryrpgvba gb cynl ntnva jnf 'ab' :)]
  21. [Frozen In Carbonite] Sorrow and Horror

Yeah, I was thinking of a health bar or encroaching "hurt" effect over time, but just use the number of steps or distance traveled to define how much the player has left to live. I feel like this game is going to get made, even if not for wizard jam 4
  22. [Frozen In Carbonite] Sorrow and Horror

Somewhat of a brain dump, but here's what I had in mind for "Sorrow and Horror", the pithy reboot of the Cruisin' For Somethin' game world. Outline: Your car is stopped on the side of a quiet dark highway. You've had an accident, and need to get help. You had a phone, but you don't know where it is. It's dark, and you don't know where you are. You are hurt. Your leg is broken or something, you don't know for sure. Game: You have a fixed number of steps before the game ends (you pass out or die or something) You explore your surrounding environment of dark desert roadside and hills You can find objects that reveal what happened to you and your car If you find your phone, you can maybe use it. Maybe you have your phone and need to find the battery. Should phones have batteries? Yes. This one does I guess? If you find your phone, you have one chance to call because the battery is low. If you mis-dial, that's that. There's a random chance a truck will pass. You can try to wave it down. Maybe, if you found the flashlight that flew out of your car's trunk when the accident happened. If you step in front of the truck, it hits you and the game is over. I am torn whether to make this a straight faced truck-smuck, or use the semi truck from Mario Kart 64, and have Mario Kart 8 Luigi stare you down as the game fades to black. Was also toying with the idea that you needed to walk to get gas and could find things on the way, but then the game would need a destination and a big-ish world. Fixed steps means the world can be fixed size because you can never walk further than N steps away from spawn. Got to keep that Wizard Jam scope tiny. I wanted it to be dark and eerie and unsettling and a bit funny. Good sound design, a few well made objects of interest, and that's about it. Alas, I didn't really do much beyond the initial concept/GIF I posted above. Alternative Sub-Titles: Sorrow and Horror: I need a Transfusin' ...: I got a Bruisin' ...: My leg is Oozin' ...: This is Confusin' I don't know. Haha.
  23. [RELEASE] Business Guys On Planes

+10 for Dot Gobbler decal on that plane. This looks weird and great. Looking forward to it!
