  1. WIZARD JAM 6 // Welcome Thread

If it helps, making a very silly jokey game is a very welcome thing. If memory serves, Shoot That Pizza from a couple jams back was super short and a hilarious good time.
  2. WIZARD JAM 6 // Welcome Thread

Hey so it really bugged me that the pause jingle bells didn't loop quite perfectly. So here's a better (?) fully loopable version in case you actually want it to be in your game and looping. PauseJingleBells_BetterLoop.mp3
  3. WIZARD JAM 6 // Welcome Thread

YESSSSSSS! If ever I was motivated to finish my current project, it is right now.
  4. I really liked this game. I couldn't get passed the first level with a mushroom though. I tried all the combinations I could think of, but couldn't complete the puzzle Also,
  5. Also this "Boy howdy this makes me want to eat M&Ms a LOT" container. (Came across it the other day. The saddest part is that it was: 1) For Christmas themed M&Ms, and 2) in a discount bin in July. )
  6. Just saw this not too long ago. Horrific, but right in that M&Ms (and Cars, sort of) wheel house. Gross. (Saw on twitter, here: https://twitter.com/ibogost/status/886349143547031552)
  7. SHOWCASE WEEKEND // Welcome Thread

From what I've played so far, I have to say I'm really impressed and enthused about how good this community is. Some of the games are really well polished and visually impressive, others are more "jammy" but still pack in some really cool and fun stuff. Wizard Jam is awesome!
  8. Post-Jam Update: The game has been released here: https://itch.io/jam/wizard-jam-5/rate/152376 Post-Jam Update #2: version 1.1 has been uploaded in place of 1.0, and now includes somewhat proper lighting Hey all, Just posting my first of hopefully many Wizard Jam 5 progress updates. I've abandoned previous notions of fitting in a Walking Sim sequel to Cruisin': For Somethin', and instead am using this fine jam as a chance to learn the ropes of Realtime CSG and make some kind of weird ambient "walk around and touch things" thing. Anyway, here's the progress so far: A part hallway!
  9. [Release] Super Hollyweedland

This game was great. I enjoyed the sparse guitar track throughout, and the echo/fade when the scenes changed. The visuals were just the right amount of chunkiness without being impossible to read.
  10. [Released ] The Wizard

This game is pretty fun and weird. I loooove the visual choices and music. I had some issues with getting the recipes right, as I dropped my book and it was hard to pickup, and once the pages turned to the back, there wasn't a clear way to flip back to the first page. But I had fun making random stuff for strangers and poofing it in their faces with medieval whimsy. I hope you polish this up a little more, because it's got some great potential I think
  11. [Release] A Thousand Dormant Machines

This is very fun and good! I enjoyed the "fuzzed out CRT" look a lot, and the platforming felt pretty tight. I also liked how you could
  12. [Released] Sit in a Row and Stare at the Wall

Thanks for playing! This arcade cab thing is a tradition I can get behind!
  13. [RELEASE] The Purity of a Child's Boredom

This was really delightful. I didn't know what the heck I was doing but I had fun doing it. Great audio and visuals. And
  14. [RELEASE] Transmission Lost

This is really, really good. I cannot believe you pulled this off in 2 weeks! I also got stuck on That Part, but aside from that it was smooth sailing. Very nice work!
  15. [RELEASED] Odds and Ends

I don't know what I just played, but I enjoyed it!
  16. [RELEASE] Super Pools n' Ghosts

This game's mood is off the hook, yo. Well done.
  17. [Released] Sit in a Row and Stare at the Wall

This will make a good box quote. Glad you enjoyed it! I was hoping the gags would work. Sounds like they did so far. Thanks for playing, y'all
  18. Nice and chill, and I like the minimal music and robot voice. I managed to get 1300 points!
  19. [Release] The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of

This is very weird and good. The narration sort of reminded me also of Will Ferrel's Megamind. The funny bits were funny, the visual bits were lovely, and the menus were tight. 11/10 would play again.
  20. [Released] Sit in a Row and Stare at the Wall

    "Done", and released here: https://itch.io/jam/wizard-jam-5/rate/152376
  21. [Release] Nick Breckons: 1, Mackle: More

Wow this is coming together into something magical.
  22. [RELEASED] EVADER

    Looking good!
  23. [Release] The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of

It's not failsafe, but setting your Canvas Scaler helps if you set to Scale With Screen Size rather than Constant Pixel Size. You need to play with the other variables like expand/shrink, your reference screen resolution, etc. but it should get you most of the way there. More details about the different modes here: https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/script-CanvasScaler.html
  24. [Released] Sit in a Row and Stare at the Wall

So realistically, I will have maybe some time on saturday night and sunday to finish this up. Here are the critical items remaining: -Seat/Sitting/Standing mechanism -Intro fade out from black -Outro fade to black to main menu -Main menu with mouse sensitivity adjustment -Exit door and stairs to return to main menu -Icon, splash screen, screenshots, readme, upload build to itchio Stretch/Polish items, if I have time and mental capacity: -Proper lighting -More interactable content to look at, read, etc. -Ambient audio I hope I can get to the polish items, because the game feels pretty hollow at the moment. I guess it's a jam game, so that's kind of the deal, but I hope it's good.
