Does anyone have a macaroni & cheese recipe they really like? It's something that I want to branch out from the blue box, but have only had gross homemade mac & cheese in my life.

You can keep that dream alive. Make 11 copies of himself and he can coach his all-Cal basketball team.

Cal is UC Berkeley! (I agree, it is very confusing.)

Sports! I've created an NCAA march madness bracket group on ESPN. Consider joining us! You'll get up to 3 bracket entries so you can do your real bracket, your no upset bracket and your wacky upset bracket! I know the 16th seeds are getting settled, so you may want to wait a day or so to put in your picks, but don't wait too long! http://games.espn.go.com/tournament-challenge-bracket/en/group?invitesource=email&groupID=1245516&inviteuser=ezJGNzI0NzBGLTQwRTgtNDJFMS1CMjQ3LTBGNDBFOEIyRTE1OH0=&ex_cid=invite-email-tcmen&groupp=c2l4ZXJzd2F0Y2g Group: Idle Thumbs Readers Password: sixerswatch

Max Fun drive started today, but runs for 2 weeks, so you can try out some more shows, or listen to more of the ones you like before you decide. You can pledge as little as $5, and you will get access to donors only bonus episodes of all the shows as well as the bonus eps from all previous years. You are also allowed to cancel your support at any time (aka you're not committing to $60 for a year, but rather $5 per month).

It's the Max Fun Drive! If you have been listening to an enjoying MBMBaM or The Adventure Zone or Sawbones or the multitude of shows that Travis does or Still Buffering consider contributing! I'm a $5 a month donor and am going to upgrade to $10/month this year. You get to select which Max Fun shows you listen to and the money goes to those shows with a small portion going to the network itself to pay for the staff that runs the network & for developing new shows. If you've ever considered being a donor, now is the time to do it as you don't get the rewards at other times of the year, and there are challenge donors (aka donors who pledge to contribute a certain amount for every new/upgrading donor). If there are 100 challenge donors and they each pledged a penny, and you pledged for $5/month, the network actually gets $6 as a result of you joining, so you are maximizing your contribution by donating now. Please do be aware the Maximum Fun is designated as a for profit, so this is not a charitable contribution that can be written off during your taxes. I consider it more like a subscription to the shows I like. I consume more Max Fun shows per month than I do content off of the Netflix subscription I pay more per month for. http://www.maximumfun.org/donate - You can look at the contribution tier rewards. If you're not in a place to financially give right now, I, and the network totally understand, I spent my first year too poor to contribute, but consider posting about it on twitter or facebook or some other forum you're on.

As this is not idle cook club relevant, but is cooking relevant I bought: The America Test Kitchen cooking for two cookbook ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JEOMV1E/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?ie=UTF8&btkr=1 ) on a whim. Tonight we're trying out the smothered pork chop recipe. I will report back how that turns out. (It smells very good.) Update: that was the best pork chop i've ever had in my entire life.

One thing that I kept thinking about during the most recent debate when Hillary was advocating for an expansion of Obamacare rather than a shift to single payer that you can't make republican governors take the medicaid money offered to them if they want to prove a point (which they've shown that they do), and in a state like Oklahoma who is slashing medicaid budgets, what good does an expansion of Obamacare do?

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)
jennegatron replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Idle Banter
I made a playlist of some of the most important to me rap songs from the 2000s ( tried to concentrate on the mid-2000s, but it does extend to cover the whole decade) There are multiple intentional radio edits, as they are the versions of the songs I actually listened to either via the actual radio, or through the songs being played at school dances. -
I don't like Hillary either, but when the general election rolls around, I will vote for her, should she win the nomination.

I've been thinking about this all afternoon, but my favorite joke in MBMBaM history is when Travis claims that anyone who knows more than 5 recipes is just showing off.

Travis doesn't have a day job, so all he does is podcasts, and his shows are the ones I'm most likely to skip because of a few reasons, primarily tho i find post apocalypse things exhausting and I don't like dogs. I like Travis a lot, but I don't feel compelled to add everything any of the brothers do to my list, but I'll try just about anything they do once. I have 2 hours of commute time each day, so I listen to a lot of podcasts, and am excited when someone I know I like creates something for me to fill 10 hours a week with.

Since Mew can learn every TM & HM, I'm kind of grateful about not having to leveling it myself, especially given the EV paralysis I feel.

Pick up your Celebi!!!!! you don't have to go to Gamestop, just check via internet under the mystery gift menu http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-news/deposit-three-solid-pokemon-with-pokemon-bank/ You can get some free legendaries if you have Pokemon Bank. If you're at all interested in breeding for shinies or perfects, I highly recommend the bank! $5/ year is nothin' and gives you enough storage to churn out 300 non-shiny imperfect mareeps.

My favorite episode of the entire show is in season 3 (Soulmates) and I just want to share that joy with everyone.

Some miscellaneous McElroy content: Griffin was on an episode of Wizards of the Coast's official D&D podcast - episode Enter the Adventure Zone on Jan 7, 2016 https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-dungeons-dragons-podcast/id189053885?mt=2 (It's just called "The Dungeons & Dragons Podcast" to those of you who want to search for an rss feed or just on your podcast app) He talks a little about his process and how he edits the Adventure Zone and I thought it was a really good interview.

I highly recommend that anyone interested in the Adventure Zone starts out with episode 1.5 and not episode 1. It's very much a pilot episode and episode 1.5 is simply episode 1 with all the "wait, which dice do i roll?" edited out. Also the starter campaign that is provided with 5e is where they start, but they very quickly diverge from that story, so you may already be familiar with the Goblin cave and Klaarg and Gundran Rockseeker, but Griffin starts writing his own content quickly after the first few episodes.
