Taco Bell with lots of Lava Sauce on paper plates. Don't worry, there won't be a shortage of plastic knives, he's got 4000. This is what fine dining is all about. ...what the fuck is wrong with that guy

  3. Didactic Thumbs (Pedantry Corner)

I think the idiots, eot, and SpennyDubz should discuss this further. Edit: Had to fix a mistake, but thanks for discussing it

Is this the place to mention that I do "give a fuck" about an oxford comma.
  5. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Yeah, I didn't even know this song was getting radio play, had someone show me the video, which is awesome, but i also totally dig that the production sounds like a throwback to 90s pop house. Anyways, here's a Mitch Murder remix of it.

Graphics Gale is my go to suggestion for pixel art. You might be able to get away with using Photoshop, or you can check out this list of Graphics Gale like software.

So for the time being this video has audio from the Top Gear episode I was watching, it should eventually be replaced by some sweet ass heavy metal. BLOOD
  8. That sentiment has basically turned me off all co-op games, I have friends who play games, but there are just too many variables to fall in place e.g. Friend and I both purchased Co-op Game during summer sale, both installed it this week, and both have 10:15 - 11:30 free tuesday night to play it. Just doesn't happen.
  9. My assumption would be a doctorate in computer science as that is a statistic for programmers, but I would buy your theory on "some college" being veterans.
  10. According to this I make less than average That's real strange, and I would have to guess is some error / bias of the survey sample. Or maybe these are just the code savants who never needed no education and were born ready to code. Not surprised by this at all. When we listen to podcasts and read our websites, I think they have a bias towards developers already somewhat successful, even if that just means dudes who got their game on steam. I've met a lot of indies who haven't made it to steam, who don't know how to market a game, and frankly don't have a clue how to make a cent.

  12. Coming Out Simulator 2014

That was quite powerful. Really made me feel pressure about the choices it gives you. I can't write words good, but wow, I had a pretty intense reaction to that.
  13. Is it completely phased out at this point? Maybe they turned off the servers.

Yeah that tutorial was good for telling me that I had indeed correctly understood how to use the parry mechanic, and also that yellow attacks are unblockable, but like I said, the Monsoon fight was really where I got a hang of the mechanic.
  16. Mington started stalking Olly Moss and you'll never believe what happened next.
  17. This is known as the Dredd model.
  18. 99% of the time I'm in there I'm developing games, just not necessarily talking about it.
  19. That's another way to describe it.
  20. I'll add that if you are on a Mac, I have found Colloquy to be a fantastic irc client.
  21. Yogscast is going to get revenue from developers in return for showing said developer's game on their channel. TotalBiscuit highlights many of the problems with their model of doing this.

Let's talk Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. I beat it, sort of, I got to the final boss, got super annoyed, and then watched the ending on YouTube. The Let's Player who posted the video said it took him two and a half hours to beat the boss, so no regrets there. I had a pretty solid moment of revelation with this game. The boss fight against Monsoon, the cyborg who splits himself into pieces, really forces you to get a hang of the parry system, and the game really took an upwards swing from there. The bosses following Monsoon make good use of parrying too. But then I realize this game does a lot to sabotage the beauty that is parrying attacks. I never really figured out how to fight the Gekkos or Mastiffs. There are a lot of un-parryable attacks in the game, especially in that last boss. The game does a lot of good stuff, but it's also its own worst enemy. Doesn't explain itself well, and doesn't always make the best sue of its combat systems.
