I've only seen the first two episodes, so what I'm saying I hope will change, but I have been finding that while its similar in form to Serial, thus far the story in Making a Murderer has been mostly frustrating and not nearly as intriguing as Serial. I think I'll watch more, but so far it is a huge bummer.

The game name claim to fame, or "How I learned to stop worrying and love Gratuitous Space Battles"
Spenny replied to GavinTheAlmighty's topic in Video Gaming
I usually take the stance that a lore based name is easier to mess up than a more literal one, but this comes from my work naming mobile games, where your "organic" is based on an app icon and game title. Your title is really the only spot to let people know what the mechanics are! Looking through my steam games though, I would agree, lore names are more preveleant and evoke fonder memories. There's honestly not a lot of literal titles in my steam library. -

Can I ask some questions about titles? Do you prefer a title that indulges in the games lore and themes, or a title that sways towards a more literal description of the game? Are there titles which have actually swayed you to research, download, or purchase a game? Are there titles that have actively turned you away from a game? Do you like when titles are representative of a games lineage (i.e Demons/Dark souls, System/Bio shock)? Do those lineage titles make you more critical or more receptive to the successor? -

CEO of Iron Galaxy, friend, and butt of jokes. EDIT: Thanks top post. I'm just starting into the GOTY stuff. I am rarely satisfied with the list they come up with, but the podcasts are genuinely one of the best sources for me to figure out what games I should be making an effort to check out as they are often a lot more verbose in their talking about games for GOTY than the regular podcast.- 1367 replies

Finally got around to playing it. Style for days! I think as you continue working on it you should consider a ramping experience as the round continues. Like, start with 2 inputs, then 3 etc. Also, I don't know if it matters, but for me, remembering a face button, because its colour coded and shit, is like 10 times easier than any other input.

[Dev Log and Call for Ideas] A Krampus Karol
Spenny replied to Grumbleputty's topic in Wizard Jam 2 Archive
Very funny. The krumplings are super creepy. I thought the children swearing sound was pretty funny. -
Love the art. Definitely the kind of experience I hope to have when playing a jam game.

Bold moves made with trying to implement the kind of mechanic you did, so congratulations on that part!

The animations are very charming. I'm not sure what my goals were, but the cloud helped me scale the wall and jump off the level so I guess that's a win!

I feel that the long discussions of people's favourite booze mixed in with the occasional "im durnk and at my compter" post is exactly the reason this forum loves its megathreads.

I am curious griddlelol as to just how negative a reaction you had to the game. Were you playing it alone? I'd imagine that makes the game significantly less pleasurable.

Never Alone is imperfect, but good on the whole. Get some Native American storytelling, you probably haven't had much before, and probably never in a video game.
