  1. E3 2015

If it makes you feel better, change.org has a pretty low success rate and is really more of a statement than something that could have any effect. I understand why people are upset, the game looks pretty lame, especially in comparison to a real metroid.
  2. I'm fascinated by people who didn't rekindle. From what I recall, there's no direct clue that you can just walk out without lighting the bonfire, and bonfire lighting was completely entrained by that part of the game. See a bonfire - feel relief - light it - level - reward. What on earth made people ignore that?!
  3. E3 2015

The length of Star Fox will dictate how much I care. I picked up Star Fox 64 3D, finished it in a day and was incredibly disappointed. I basically want a Rogue Squadron 3.
  4. Destiny

That armor is really like the Tau from Warhammer 40k.
  5. Idle Food - Cooking!

I've heard that once you stop having salt, you adapt and a tiny amount is enough. I just love it so much I couldn't live without it for the time needed to adjust. I honestly don't watch my salt intake at all. The last time I had my blood pressure tested I was in the super "athlete level" which wasn't indicative of my fitness level, but just a genetic predisposition to having no blood pressure issues. My family has loads of shit illnesses, but not one incidence of heart attack (or cancer for that matter). It's been a while, but personally I think coffee, caffeine in general and stress have a much stronger effect on my blood pressure than the salt I eat. I can see the veins in my arms pop out when I get stressed or binge on coffee. It's a nice little feed back signal. Sodium has gotten a pretty bad reputation, but it's a vital part of body function, it's just when people eat shit foods all the time, or move from a hot country to a cold country, it can cause a problem. I put cinnamon in my coffee when I have time to make it via a moka pot. It's great. Embarrassingly I got the idea from an episode of "Two and a Half Men" I once had the misfortune of watching.
  6. Recently completed video games

I really liked Apotheon. I'm a sucker for stylish games, and that had style coming out the wazoo. It's not really a vania, I don't know why it was described as such, it's just more like an open world 2D game. That's not really the game's fault though. That's the fault of reviewers and the way we describe games in general. I thought the combat audio visual feedback was fantastic. The sounds of smashing, the way enemies flew away when you hit them at a certain angle. All really satisfying. "Objectively" it was a competent game, it worked, it was kinda fun, but subjectively, I thought it was awesome.
  7. UK Thumbs

It really depends what you consider nice... I spent a few years in Southampton as a student, so I know all the scummy but cheap fun places there, and I work in Manchester, but frankly if you're not into football, there's not much here that you can do that you can't do better somewhere else...Manchester is sort of like a watered down version of London, with even more rain.
  8. Backlog Busters

Why, is Unepic a good game? My backlog just expanded drastically thanks to the Steam sale, The Witcher being the longest game ever, and spotting a very cheap copy of Alien Isolation at my local super market. I've also stalled on my Metroid series play through. Echoes is just not as good as Prime, then it gives you another scavenger hunt, but now you have to think about switching between worlds too. It kinda felt like work, so I put it down for a while.
  9. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I loved the dice part, but after a few rolls, you understand why most games hide that. It just adds time to something that already takes too long. Also what's up with the girl? I don't usually complain about women's outfits in games, but it's established very early on that she's a girl of 16/17. Her panties go so low down she might as well not be wearing them. Not to mention she looks anorexic, it's just an all round gross design.
  10. E3 2015

I had no idea they said they wouldn't mention it. Haven't really been paying attention to the stuff surrounding E3, only the conferences themselves. That's still not a great move. I pretty much bought my WiiU for Mario Kart and Zelda. The other games I've played on it are fantastic stuff, but I want ZeldaU!
  11. E3 2015

I was pretty disappointed by the Nintendo presentation. Star Fox and Fire Emblem (and FeXsmt) were the only interesting things. No Zelda U was worrying. Really worrying.
  12. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I quit two games. The Swapper and Crimson Shroud. Swapper was just not my cup of tea, I'm not really into puzzle games that much. It's got a nice idea though. Crimson Shroud I bought because I heard from a lot of sources that it's a good game for the price. Nah, games don't get good if they're cheap, they just feel like less of a waste when they suck. Crimson shroud is not fun. The combat is slow and uninteresting, he environment is pretty bland along with weird character designs, and you have to keep wandering around aimlessly to find the right place to go. The narrative is delivered in huge poorly written chunks. So much reading that I was bored out my mind. Hell it starts with a novella before you even get into the game. I quit there twice before I managed to get into the meat of the game.
  13. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

That's not a metroid game. And if it controls with the stylus I'm not interested at all.
  14. E3 2015

Hasn't that been the theme of E3 forever?
  15. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

Sunless Sea, Crypt of the Necrodancer and Valkyria Chronicles. I'm done. I'm happy.
  16. Apparently there will be no more Dark Souls after 3. That's exactly what I wanted to hear, would have hated for the series to become Assassins Creed. Now all we need is a Demons Souls Remaster.
  17. E3 2015

Is that really what's happening? It looks super dumb to me.
  18. DISHONORED 2: MISS HONORED

I've only heard good things about the DLC. Not played it myself either, so this "definitive edition" sounds tempting to me.
  19. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

I followed the Baron's questline, including the swamp to it's end. Man, that was great. I'd not been playing much recently, but that pulled me straight back in.
  20. Job Hunting

    Awesome news!
  21. DISHONORED 2: MISS HONORED

I liked the cool spider man like dark web shot thingy. Looks good.
  22. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

I'm trying to play Super Mario Bros for the first time on VC. I'm bad at Super Mario, Bros.
  23. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

I ended up taking it down, and then killed a few more monsters for good measure and upgraded my IG. I'm feeling like I need a little break soon though. 60 hours in one game is a lot for me.
  24. Idle Food - Cooking!

Wait, people don't use salt? Do you all not use pepper either? Stuff tastes so bland without it! I eat a lot of salad, but that still gets covered in salt, pepper and olive oil. Those 3 things go into practically everything I make.
  25. Steam Summer Sale Spendapalooza

I'm basically holding out for Sunless Sea and I'll be done. Oh, and Invisible Inc, if it's cheap enough. Planning to get my computer fixed at some point.
