  1. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

Really enjoying the polish on this, the music is great.
  2. I need a little help regarding my buttocks

Honestly this is a question with no answer, so many crummy options out there. Here is hoping the stream controller is actually great. For now I just a wireless keyboard and mouse.
  3. Cities: Skylines

Man, I wish there was more to this game, I feel like I'm kind of hitting the point where it's impossible to lose. I forgot to save before quitting last night so it reverted back to the pre-apocalypse state(which is a total bummer) I'm sitting at a million in cash and I am making about 20g a week. I do need to get my road game on point though, I'm super shit at it.
  4. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

3.5 hours to go, woo! Does anyone know if this is full on party creation like IceWind Dale or is it just your PC like Baldur's Gate? I must admit I kind of forgot about this soon after the kickstarter so I am fairly light on info.
  5. Idle Food - Cooking!

    That sounds great!
  6. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

I understand the distinction but they did share tools and resources and I don't know, it was sad to see a crpg I was hyped about come out on shakey feet. I am very excited for Project Eternity, Baldur's Gate 1 is like my nostalgia game. My mom picked it up while working at a kmart in 1998, the box was open so she got a steep discount. I spent months pouring over the tome of a manual obsessed with the new words (THAC0?) and setting until I finally learned how to install it, and of course the first disc was scratched beyond repair. As a kid would, I wrote a really sincere letter to the company and after months of waiting they finally sent a set of replacement discs in the mail and it was the best damned day, it was like Christmas. The game was hard and rough around the edges and I didn't stick with it until the end, but the burning love I have for that game is intense. So many summer nights spent reading and re-reading that stupid manual.
  7. Project Eternity, Obsidian's Isometric Fantasy RPG

I wasn't really keen after the kind of sloppy offering of Wasteland 2, but the giantbomb quicklook sold me.
  8. Cities: Skylines

Oh man, I got too enraptured with designing a useful metro system hoping to alleviate some traffic woes and....totally did not realize sewage was backing up into my water supply. Apparently people don't like drinking sewage.
  9. Cities: Skylines

Your little town is looking good! I love the idea of your entry point roads being an extension of the highway. I am going to have to watch the videos Chris posted. A bike lane street mod would be cool, it could be a two way three lane road and one lane can be bikes only.
  10. Cities: Skylines

Operation 'Bright Flight' has been a success, those poor schmucks in the slums can't die as fast as I can put up high density housing. Once I have the proper suburb setup I will start on rebuilding the old city, for right now it is helping me build and expand. It was dicey though, at one point I had dipped back down to 5k pop and less than a thousand in income a week. Thankfully people starting moving into the new neighborhood and helped inject some cashflow into my government. Starting to think of using the auto-delete abandoned and burned down buildings mod, there is always a section of the city burning, dead or abandoned. It is taking too much time to manually remove them to play the game properly.
  11. eReaders - What is everyone's thoughts?

If you are doing anything color and high res, don't get an e-ink kindle that is for sure. Oooh I am still on a kindle that is a few gens old, and have a case with a light built in. I want a paperwhite, the built in LED would be so nice for reading next to my SO. RIght now the janky led sticking out of the case is pretty distracting.
  12. Cities: Skylines

My city is now facing a crippling low end worker population. I find it very interesting to think about when to build a highschool and university because if you educate too many people too quickly you are shooting your industry in the foot until you get offices. This game is excellent, and I was super pumped to hear Chris mention my flood post in the latest thumbscast.
  13. Cities: Skylines

Yeah I find this game fairly easy but there are definitely plateaus of difficulty the higher your population is. I started a fresh city and wanted to do nothing but one way streets and try to get away with my "everything on a grid" Chicago attitude, unfortunately you are so limited by starting money I did not have the capital for the super wide one lane roads so I went with the regular small roads. Everything worked out until I hit about 5k population, and then the dead (and garbage) littered the streets. This screenshot is after I had the issue mostly corrected but fire, garbage backup and deaths seem pretty rampant. I am just at 7k population and am using this GarbageCity to fund my nice grid based high density prosper zone. Sorry chuds of first city.
  14. Battlethumbs 4

I skipped 4 and the last several CODs so I am kind of itching for a multiplayer shooter. I really dig it so far.
  15. Battlethumbs 4

    Is anyone getting hardline?
  16. Cities: Skylines

Was placing an hydroplant and it kind of just acted like a regular dam, I deleted it but the damage was done and probably heightened by the removal as It created a huge tsunami like wave.
  17. Cities: Skylines

    Mistakes have been made.
  18. Brad in that homeworld quicklook bummed me out, and I am totally not that guy who usually gets annoyed with that stuff hah,
  19. Discworld

Same here, will try to fix that, feel like a jerk as it has always been on my "to-read" list.
  20. Photos of things

So I have been experimenting with off camera flash and portrait photography. My Niece turned three, but her bday party was cancelled due to snow so I took the time to experiment a bit. Not perfect, and the background was a bit tough as there aren't any good walls that were just blank (see the dumb piece of time on the right hand side). I don't have much experience "instructing" people during "photo shoots" so starting with a kid was tough. *edit* Just going to post links to my google drive, don't really want to put these on flickr/imgur and the thumbs forums don't really like the google drive links https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3RjYe_SCWxPandqemo5c3hXWjA/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3RjYe_SCWxPRUlzSVZXQUlzS28&authuser=0
  21. Non-video games

Nice, looking at the insert and that looks pretty great! That is one thing I think a lot of boardgames are missing, are well thought out inserts. I loved Lords of Waterdeep for that. How does everyone store their games? I am at the point where I have squeezed all I can out of my current book case, I am not sure to either abandon the boxes and just rock custom inserts or just have a dedicated board game shelving unit. Leaning towards the latter, cuz dat art.
  22. Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarter)

Can someone explain exploration to me? I would like to do it, it just hasn't clicked like combat/mining.
  23. Guild Wars 2

I have no witty suggestions, this games seems quite polished. Not typically a big mmo guy so it should be interesting to see how far I get with this.
  24. Guild Wars 2

I am the owner of a shiny new guild wars 2 key...now just to figure out how to recover my account without my OG Guild Wars key
  25. Guild Wars 2

If it indeed goes on Sale today, I'd be down. I really dug Guild Wars 1 a whole lot.
