I would buy one of those, if for no other reason than burbon cream is so good. Edit: looks like they have a whole run of them http://www.vinotreats.com/BuzzBar.html Edit 2: Texas only

This is rarely a good idea, as studies have shown that people that "threaten" to leave or have another job offer in hand will generally be gone in 6 months anyway, regardless of the current employer offering incentives to stay. At that point, it's easier for the current employer to let you go and find another person they can depend on staying for a while. As for the straw poll, I have heard those sorts of comments before, but it's mostly in the context of being a contractor with a company versus actually being employed full time by them. My experience is that smaller companies will tend to do things haphazardly, while larger companies tend to plan things into oblivion Office Space style, so there's a bit of "grass is always greener" effect going on there. Edit: The only time I have offered more than two weeks is when I worked for a company of three people. A company of 500 should be able to figure out how to make 2 weeks notice work. If they can't, then hopefully they'll learn how after it's bit them in the ass once.

Same thing happened to me twice, very near the start of the game, and I gave up.

Really, the Witcher series is all about every decision you make being shitty. I doubt any of the routes you could take in the first game ending with anything but a repeated kick in the balls. I just remember having wedged myself into a corner during the climactic fight that goes down in the village of either siding with the humans or just peacing out. By that point I wanted to side with the elves, but I guess it was too late so I pieced out and then the rest of the game tumbled downhill.

I realized after spending all that time to get one of the first batches of legalized weed in Washington that I haven't even finished the first package, let alone looked around for more. Not really my bag I guess.

Most were unique in a good way, a few were unique in ways that weren't to my taste. They also were expensive. If by H word you mean hipster, then yes I'll admit to it. I like a huge variety of bars and restaurants. Depending on my mood I've spent a lot of time in dive bars, or those old run-down bars that only 50 year olds go to, or sports bars, but I also like classy expensive places and wine tastings on occasion as well.

Wait, did season 1 even finish coming out? I heard about the first episode and then nothing.

I managed (accidentally) to end up neutral in the first game and man that ending was depressing.

I'm not sure if I'd call that sustainable, that's more of a growth industry, what with the supply problems solved.

Official Giant Bomb Thread Mostly for Complaining About Dan
Dewar replied to tegan's topic in Idle Banter
I listened to bits and pieces live, and I found it really cool and insightful in ways that the Bombcast and the other E3 coverage weren't. I'm going through the archive now.- 1367 replies

Turning lead into gold?

Having been on both sides of the line over the last decade, I'd say there's a huge advantage to knowing that a game you buy for a console will just work, as opposed to debating over minimum/recommended specs when you're near the line. Steam refunds are starting to make that debate a little better, and games release broken everywhere now, but Oblivion on Xbox 360 made sense at the time and was well worth it rather than struggling to upgrade my PC on a budget to be just above the minimum line, and then not knowing the experience I would get.

My only thoughts for build order are more keeps than you think you'll need as fast as possible. It's very possible to get screwed by lack of/bad breeding, even if you don't loose many folks in fights. My hard run right now I'm in the 100th year and I have 7 people capable of fighting, and no available women at all.

Really glad to see everyone pick up Massive Chalice. I really love that game, and Brad Miur is so dreamy.

Having been to a couple, I'd say that the cocktails there are definitely the most unique I've had, mainly because it's the really adventurous and curious people who make it in. So yes, it does filter out some of the "mainstream" folks, and that makes it so the bartenders can go a bit wild and create things that wouldn't necessarily sell well in a regular bar. Additionally, it's usually significantly quieter than most bars, which is nice, and the illusion of illegality and exclusiveness has a part as well.

I really enjoyed his Keynote at PAX Prime, but everything I've heard from Jaffe since has been pretty insufferable, and man Drawn to Death looks horrible. Edit: Old Bombcasts will always be nostalgic for me just because I miss Ryan Davis.- 1367 replies

Finally finished watching all the press conferences last night. I'm more excited after this E3 than I was after the last couple, so that's good. Sony showed some pretty cool stuff, but most of of it isn't out until next year, and I'm really starting to want to buy a WiiU, even though I barely use my Xbox One as it is.

David Lynch's Josh Brolin's Campo Santo's Fire Watch With Me: A Motion Picture Event
Dewar replied to TychoCelchuuu's topic in Video Gaming
Ha, the Giant Bomb interview is great. It started frustrating, but ended up just absurd. I don't know if anyone listening to the podcast knows what Firewatch is, but hopefully they are intrigued. -
To be frank, I'd rather wait until all the episodes are out because it both guarantees that the story will finish and gives me the opportunity to play them once a week or so. Months between episodes is too long for me to remember these days.

I am so excited for another Mass Effect. It's probably my favorite new IP from the Xbox 360 generation.
