  1. I think Nick's girlfriend started following my tumblr. How do I turn this against him?
  2. maybe Sheperd's into blue skinned lizard women.
  3. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

Horde Battles are a godsend for EV training. They also have a higher than normal shiny encounter rate, if you're some kind of pleb who catches their shinies instead of meticulously breeding perfect ones.
  4. Man, I was about to bring up a quote I've mentioned here before in response to that, only to find it in the text of that Killscreen article.
  5. Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

Plus you get stuff to transfer to the full game, including a level 40 Glalie holding its Mega Stone. Doubles were Ruby/Sapphire, Triples were Black/White (White had more Triple Battles, Black had more Rotation Battles). X/Y brought in Sky Battles, Horde Battles, and Inversion Battles, but those are all kind of terrible and fortunately incredibly rare.
  6. Good News Everyone

I'm reeeaaally weirded out by that police report. the guy only got a $500 fine for public intoxication and simple assault? Isn't it a pretty obvious hate crime? Then I remembered it's Texas. Whee!
  7. The best thing about Ito is that he draws his slice of life autobiographical series about living with his new cats in the exact same style as his horror manga.
  8. Jeff Goldblum

I had a dream the other night that I was watching Jurassic Park 4 (not Jurassic World, Jurassic Park 4). It starred Jeff Goldblum as himself, who acknowledged in the fiction that he had played the role of Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park. He was going back to the island as a corporate spy to gather raptor DNA to grow raptor-human skinsuits for Terminator-style robots (which may have been Petmen). There was a bit where the raptorman robots climbed down an elevator shaft that was on fire and their raptor skin burned off. The movie ended with an uncomfortably long (like twenty minutes) scene of Jeff Goldblum buying a t-shirt at a shitty Hawaiian corner store type deal after the flight back home. Like the kind of place that would sell a shirt with black Bart Simpson on it. He had to carefully comb through all the styles and sizes and haggle with the shopkeeper and so on. I'd watch it.
  9. Amazing episode. Nick Breckon at his most Breckonic (I half-expected an epilogue about how he was going to buy his girlfriend a puppy on the way home), discussion of my favourite horror game in a long time (The Last Door), and Don Bluth talk. Kind of weird to hear discussion about All Dogs Go to Heaven being willing to lay heavy ideas on kids, since that film also has some hilarious censorship ("a rayyyyy gunnnn"). It's also pretty tragically fitting that that movie is about death. Don Bluth got fucking weird by the end of his career, by the way. He may not have been involved in the countless Land Before Time sequels, but The Pebble and the Penguin is a phenomenally terrible movie all on its own. Also... So a dude who wrote a culturally beloved horror story also wrote a terrible story about an air-breathing landshark, eh?
  10. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

behold the power of the Monado! *does sweet drift*
  11. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Super Smash Kart is a thing that needs to happen. It's already weird enough that Donkey Kong is still somehow considered part of the Mario universe. Just fucking throw everybody in. Or alternatively, make a cross-compatible karting game for every Nintendo franchise. Animal Karting. Pokékarts. Xenokart Chronicles.
  12. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Advertising something I already bought and advertising inside the game itself are both kind of a little gross. Doing both at once is just silly.
  13. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Incidentally, the fact that Mario Kart 8 shows all the DLC stuff on the character/course select menus even though half of it won't even be available until next May is ridiculous. I preordered all of it, am I just gonna have to see a little picture of Isabelle with a checkmark over her head every time I play for the next seven months?
  14. The Yawhg

I hadn't realized until recently that Emily Carroll did the art for The Yawhg, which makes so much sense. She tends to draw lot of unsettling horror comics set in an indeterminate historical period.
  15. emote me

The Simpsons is about the wacky comedic adventures of people with crazy hair styles and colours who we identify as a race that they clearly do not resemble.
  16. Junior Mints shares some seasonally-appropriate free games. I can vouch for The Last Door.
  17. Bayonetta

I think that "In Other Words"/"Fly Me To The Moon" might be a karaoke staple over there or something.
  18. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

I've always kind of appreciated that Nintendo doesn't try to do modern gaming business models. If any other company had come up with Streetpass Mii Plaza, you would be encouraged to spend actual money on the games instead of walking around to get Play Coins and Streetpasses (exercising and meeting people!). A Free to Play/DLC model Animal Crossing would be the worst thing imaginable.
  19. Life

I rolled my ankle earlier today. I walked around on it and it felt perfectly fine for most of the day, then as soon as I got home and laid down for a while it started to hurt like hell. I put an ice compress on it earlier and I'm still limping around.
  20. Oh, also, I'm not sure that we're even in a cultural space right now where male characters in most fiction would work. Most examples of "sexy" dudes are either designed for male power fantasies or as a joke, and not with the intention of being sexy. Like, a lot of comic book dudes will make the "male superheroes wear spandex too" argument, but there's a big difference between a Frank Miller Batman drawing and, say, a Tom of Finland drawing.
