For a second I thought you meant the Disney film Dinosaur and was about to launch into a thing about how one of my college professors worked on that movie and how much better the idea was before the stupid CG dinosaurs were given creepy human eyes and talked. Then I realized you meant "not the mama". The end of that show is surprisingly subversive.

Suggestion for next year: Everyone has to submit a list of their interests/allergies/etc and we start it like a month earlier.

I still don't feel like I'm ready to go back to work because I keep having really severe anxiety issues, but I'm trying to get back into the idea out of financial necessity. Then I spent some time browsing the job bank to day and... fuck, it's discouraging. Atlantic Canada has a famously bad job situation. Most young people move west to pursue their careers and the only thing the area has going for it is that it's unusually cheap to outsource call center jobs here, which I never want to do again after my experience doing call center work at the insurance company. I don't know what I can do.

I like to peel the price stickers off of things before I give them to people because I don't like them to worry about how much money I've spent, so it was pretty hilarious peeling progressively higher price stickers off the back of Ghost World to ultimately reveal a huge fucking price tag printed directly onto the book.

When the fuck are they announcing release dates? The crack on my XL's hinge is getting worse and I'm getting really worried that it'll break completely before the new systems hit here.

Hey, just to make this thread more depressing, I got an email from my mom: Maybe I'm just pessimistic, but characterizing my leaving an abusive home and refusing to return as a "grudge" doesn't give me much hope for her having learned anything. I still have nightmares about these people.

There's something really unsettling about the way "geek culture" fetishizes violence and war. The classic example that comes to mind for me is That One Store In The Mall That Sells Fantasy Knives, but I feel like the modern iteration that popped up in the wake of stuff like Call of Duty is way worse: "ironic" tactical and military gear. haha yeah the zombie apocalypse right? so funny, right guys? check me out, ironically spending $230 on survivalist gear for the zombie apocalypse! isn't it hilarious how I have all of these fucking weapons for "zombie slaying"? I feel like the arguable worst is this stupid pen marketed specifically for people who want to be Jack Bauer and are more likely to be arrested. A handcuff key, for "busting crime."

It's Cardbo/Danbo from Yotsuba&! It's a cardboard robot costume made by two of the characters as a school project that the protagonist mistakes for a real robot. The little thing on its chest is a coin slot.

Ghostbusters 2 gets a bad rep. It's not as good as Ghostbusters, but it still feels like a pretty reasonable extension of the first film's universe. It's perfectly watchable. -
