  1. Recently completed video games

    I'm a little late here, but some stuff worth reading (or, in two cases, watching): http://bphennessy.com/bioshock.html http://www.reactionzine.com/the-girl-without-a-land/ http://www.brainygamer.com/the_brainy_gamer/2013/04/apotheosis.html http://pjmedia.com/lifestyle/2013/04/18/the-anti-gospel-of-bioshock-infinite/?singlepage=true http://www.polygon.com/2014/3/6/5474722/why-did-irrational-close-bioshock-infinite http://www.newstatesman.com/culture/2013/04/end-epic-why-success-bioshock-infinite-bad-gaming http://starburp.tumblr.com/post/46882489673/the-thing-that-bothers-me-most-about-when-white http://leighalexander.net/bioshock-infinite-now-is-the-best-time/ http://designislaw.tumblr.com/post/48303569751/in-the-wake-of-columbia-a-follow-up http://www.penny-arcade.com/news/post/2013/04/10/emulator-part-one https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=FylamIJ19n8 http://www.actionbutton.net/?p=3006 http://www.abc.net.au/arts/stories/s3733057.htm http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2013/05/infinite-lockdown-bioshock-in-boston.html http://www.theastronauts.com/2013/03/game-openings-are-important-or-the-first-180-seconds-of-bioshock-infinite/ http://badassdigest.com/2013/04/03/hulk-vs-devin-vs-bioshock-infinite/ http://www.awesomeoutof10.com/features/bit-picking-tearing-through-the-machine-age-in-bioshock-infinite/ http://superopinionated.com/2013/04/03/booker-dewitt-and-the-case-of-the-young-white-lady-feels-a-bioshock-infinite-review/ http://kotaku.com/bioshock-infinite-is-insanely-ridiculously-violent-it-470524003 http://kevinjameswong.com/2013/04/08/bioshock-infinite-is-a-metacommentary-on-the-nature-of-video-game-storytelling/ http://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2013/07/hyper-mode.html
  2. New people: Read this, say hi.

Note to taterdactyl's boyfriend: don't get too used to it, I guess?
  3. Reading about Games

I'm pretty sure the Thumbs talk about core gameplay loops on the podcast sometimes.
  4. Sean was cut off in mid sentence by the Big Dog, which has managed to right itself and kill everyone at Campo Santo.
  5. ObjectiveGameReviews.com - A Subtle Journey of Discovery

WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT http://east.paxsite.com/schedule/panel/keep-your-opinion-to-yourself-the-myth-of-the-objective-game-review Please tell me one of you is going to be there and is going to mention this site.

  7. Titanfall

    Yes and yes.
  8. Official Website | | Developer Blog | Steam Greenlight | twitter | Facebook Frozen Endzone (or "Frendzone" as it is unfortunately likely to be known) is a simultaneous turn based sports tactics game. It's robot football with randomly generated arenas and carefully planned plays. Picture NFL Blitz + X-COM. It will have full single player with skirmishes and season play, plus lots of mulitplayer modes. You'll be able to customize your team and potentially the stadiums you play in. It will have a kickass soundtrack by nervous_testpilot, the guy behind Frozen Synapse's amazing soundtrack. It's being made by Mode 7 Games, the studio behind Frozen Synapse. The game will come out in 2014 with a beta likely in 2013. It will be released for PC, Mac, and Linux. Frozen Synapse is in the process of coming to the iPad, the PS3, and the Vita, so for all we know, Frendzone will end up on some or all of those. Why is Frendzone on Greenlight? Isn't Frozen Synapse on Steam Already? Lots of reasons - the developers want feedback, they want to start building a community, and they want the validation of succeeding on Greenlight. I Have a Question that Isn't Answered Here Check out the official Frendzone FAQ Google doc for more information. Rock Paper Shotgun interview Iron Hammers interview PC Gamer interview

  11. Tone Control is a Podcast!

Open it up in Audacity and move the audio left or right.
  12. The threat of Big Dog

Uh yeah so all it takes is a bug in the "don't taze until you get the go ahead" code and that motherfucker can just fly around tazing people. Also of note is that this company has previously made "a series of hit apps" which is probably code for "apps that hitmen use to find their targets." Once they get those to synergize with the robots we will have autonomous hitmen roaming through the streets, reaping vengeance on those who have pissed off software developers and those rich enough to engage their services.
  13. Anyone here own a fancy keyboard?

What do you make a keyboard out of if not plastic?
  14. The threat of Watch Dogs

Agreed 100%. I wish games had less lazy writing.
  15. Nick Breckon's Dreams Crushed

Paradox has canceled East vs. West: A Hearts of Iron Game, which from what I've gleaned from the podcasts was the last thing on this Earth to which Nick Breckon had any genuine emotional attachment. His hopes of playing the Cold War have been cruelly dashed. I fear for him now. We should form some sort of support group.
  16. Amy Hennig and Naughty Dog Part Ways

Like "Charted" or "The First of Us."
  17. Plug your shit

A while back I went through and added URLs to most of the reviews on my site because I realized that was a good idea, and I used someindiebullshit.com for the InFlux review.
  18. Idle Thumbs 146: Osama's Dog

I found it. It's the Cliff Bleszinski podcast. It starts at around 21:53.
  19. Titanfall

Seeing as the official site doesn't list everything I would suspect the answer is "they are still in the game."
  20. I liked this podcast. As a Brekcon enthusiast the Breckon appearance was very welcome. Sean talking to himself about Plants vs. Zombies Modern Sporefare was neat too - although he liked it, it turned me off of the game because this is the first I've learned of it beyond its existence, and I was just assuming it was more complicated. I also have a collector's unbleeped edition which is great because the world-exclusive reveal of Campo Santo's new game is exactly the kind of scoop I need to get my new website, Objective Game Reviews, into the headlines.
