Now, try this: turn your left hand towards you, and the right hand away. Then, with the nail of your middle finger, gently tap around the veins on your left wrist.

Now, did you find a spot which, when tapped, caused you to involuntarily stand up in pain? No? Well hooray for you. I have that, and it's scary as hell. It's as though my body has mutated and exposed a cluster of nerve endings right there on my wrist. This is just gentle tapping we're talking about. I imagine that, if I were to accidentally hit that spot with something harder, I might fucking die. It's real. I have asked several people, but everyone thinks I'm making it up or something.

I had a weird trapped nerve thing in my hand that, if I ran my fingernails over it, felt like an electric shock. It lasted about two months and then faded away... although yours sounds like proper pain instead of just an uncomfortable sensation.
