ThunderPeel2001 Posted August 17, 2009 Even if the PC version is the same (which I doubt) there's still a large enough contingent of us who (for whatever reason) don't ever game on a PC, so good on ya, Red Lynx (and thanks). Well Red Lynx say that the 360 version is more "refined" than the PC version. If it's really that much better I should check it out... although I wasn't a fan of the PC version, really
vimes Posted August 17, 2009 However then I found that I could wall jump on top of those moving platforms, thus making the laser dodging not all that difficult at all. Wow, thanks for that tip, I beat the boss in 5 minutes thanks to that! So, the visual cue of the laser being interrupted by the platform is some sort of platforming game red herring ? toblix Posted August 17, 2009 Bought it and played it. It's pretty cool. I like that they've shaved down the time required to restart a level to the absolute minimum. It's essential to keep interest from dropping, but it's something a lot of developers seem to forget.
Chris Posted August 17, 2009 I want to make sure the weird little dissonance in regard to Trials HD that exists in this thread doesn't discourage people from checking it out (not that I really think it would). Mostly I just want to say that game is FUCKFUCKINGING RADDDD, for serious. I downloaded the demo because it got a very high metacritic score, but I didn't expect much. I was like, "What? A dirt-biking game? I don't know about that. Well...since there's a free demo..." And then BAM!!! It grabbed me and still hasn't let go. It's the most addictive game I've encountered since Geometry Wars. Even if the PC version is the same (which I doubt) there's still a large enough contingent of us who (for whatever reason) don't ever game on a PC, so good on ya, Red Lynx (and thanks). It has new levels and an updated editor and I think some other new stuff

miffy495 Posted August 22, 2009 Like everyone else in this thread, I have purchased 'Splosion Man and Trials HD. 'Splosion Man is good, not amazing, but very entertaining in short bursts. Trials I bought this afternoon and spent about 4 hours playing before realizing that, shit, I had to go to work. Damn that game is rad. I have this obsessive bullshit impulse to get a gold medal on everything, and am finding myself constantly cursing Vimes and 'Blix as the two people on my friends list who are consistently scoring higher than me (although not by much, and I have beaten you bastards a few times) at the levels. I'm about 3 gold medals into the medium difficulty now, not allowing myself to move on to the next level until I've gotten gold on the one before it. I can't imagine that will last for much longer, given how long the last two gold runs have taken me to pull off, but dammit it's working so far. Great game. I'm excited to play it when I get home from work (on the office computer now) but also kind of scared that if I do I won't sleep. Conundrums...
WittyAndCleverName Posted August 22, 2009 I have 'Splosion Man, which I am really enjoying. I played Marvel vs Capcom Two with my friend, who bought it, it was fun but I don't plan on buying it.
toblix Posted August 22, 2009 not allowing myself to move on to the next level until I've gotten gold on the one before it. Yeah, I'm doing that, too, but then I hit a spot where my sessions started being shorter and farther between, and the levels so long that I got frustrated at having to restart. Garple Posted August 22, 2009 Yeah, I'm doing that, too, Me three. And I almost never take that kind of completist approach to games.
ThunderPeel2001 Posted August 23, 2009 Wow, it sounds like Trials on the 360 is definitely more fun than on the PC. I'll have to unpack it and give it go!
gdf Posted August 23, 2009 I'm almost glad my 360's still broken, I'd be fucking balls deep in XBLA stuff right now and I've got about fifteen PC games to play.
Nachimir Posted September 5, 2009 After the demo, I'm not feeling the love for Shadow Complex. Trial HD, however: YES. The little marker for the next closest friend actually acts like a pretty good guide as to where you're fucking up on the course. Also, showing high scores from your friends in the demo is probably a stroke of genius in terms of getting people to buy it.
ThunderPeel2001 Posted September 5, 2009 After the demo, I'm not feeling the love for Shadow Complex. That's because it was made by evil people for evil people... Probably.
Nachimir Posted September 6, 2009 It just seemed a bit dull to me. I think it might be a genre thing, a friend tried to get me to play a Castlevania game on GBA a few years back, and that didn't grab me either.
