Freedom Force is on Steam

Recommended Posts

...and for ridiculously cheap too. Like, less than $7 US for both games. Why are you still reading this???

Two of my favourite strategy games. I bought them off steam despite having hard copies. $7... it's a ridiculous deal.

Why are you still reading this???

Because I some hoe never managed to play that game for more than a few hours. Or at least, that was the case with Freedom Force vs The 3rd Reich

Now and again I get a craving to play a superhero game, to the point where I've considered resubscribing to City of Heroes (been dissuaded by close friends each time). Freedom Force has occasionally popped up on my radar at these times.

The Freedom Pack is £4.50 for UK.

Bought.

Snagged! I'm new to PC gaming (just installed Windows XP on my intel iMac), so there's this whole new world of great stuff available to me now for unbeatable prices. Seriously - I'm a kid in a candy store!

Anyhoo - I fucking LOVE the Jack Kirby look of this game! Based on my limited playtime so far the gameplay seems to be a satisfying mix of Diablo clicky clicky fights with some streamlined RTS tossed in for good measure. And also, it's really funny. Great! I was sold on this BEFORE knowing that Ken Levine was involved with it.

What's Freedom Force and why should I get it? :erm:

Ken Levine's last pre-Bioshock series, Freedom Force is an awesome tongue-in-cheek superhero squad-based strategy RPG. As the Minute Man and his Freedom Force (including an awesome Sean Connery-esque fish-man thing, Manowar) you will fight against mythological creatures, time-travelers, and Russians in the 1960s. In it's sequel, you are hurled back in time to fight the Nazis, and their appropriately themed axis supervillains. It's insanely good, and had a hell of a lot of value for the $50 it originally was in 2001 and 2004 (for the first and the sequel, respectively). For $7 for the two-pack, it's ridiculous to not buy it.
